The reservoir was created in the 1960s and today offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, climbing, water-skiing, kayaking and air tours. Find your own sandy oasis on 3,000 kilometres of shoreline, or rent a houseboat for a truly unique lakeside experience.

You have to pay $30 to get into the national park but this is valid for 7 days. If you want to see Antelope Canyon you can only go with a local guide so book online well in advance. Tickets were sold out for our 3 day visit.

I owned a 16' boat from 1990-2005.
I owned a 16' boat from 1990-2005. I used to take it up river a few times a year and camp for about a week at a time. Loved it! I sold it in 2005 for a number of reasons. I'm glad I did because 2 days ago I overlooked where there used to be a lake. Now it's a river. Boating wouldn't be fun any more because getting up river is about a 10 mile detour through the river channel instead of heading straight east out from Wahweap. Sad.
On my first trip on the lake in 1991 water was flowing underneath Rainbow Bridge. In 2005 it was becoming a fairly long trek to get from boat parking to the bridge.
Maybe it's time for someone (or something, depending on what you believe) to find a guy named Noah and suggest that he build a big boat for a huge future rainstorm.

Sad to see how far the lake level had dropped, over 180’ on our visit. We took a 2 hr boat tour of Navajo Canyon which was great out of the Antelope Point Marina. Due to the drop in water levels only one recreational boat ramp was open out of 15 across the lake. At Antelope Point they have to ferry you on a golf cart down to the Marina and they are creative in dealing with the dropping lake level.

While we did not go the Upper or Lower slot canyons, we did do a slot canyon tour (GREAT), went to the dam and ate at the Upstream marina, quite nice.

Beautiful, but stayed there and got checked in late (we were there early) stayed on grounds til late, then when ready for bed, sand fleas all over beds... had to change rooms, and leave the light on to have any other critters fly to the light. Glad we were only there one day. Manager never contacted us. Just go visit and stay somewhere else.

The dam visitor center and tours had been closed for six months, but their website still listed their hours as OPEN for the center and tours. No sympathies for the excuses, by folks collecting their checks, for not updating their website.

Good option for a stay in Lake Powell. Normal hotel quality as what you would expect. There is only one restaurant in walking distance which I would not recommend.
Convenient stop to visit Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfy. The staff has been very friendly. Nothing exceptional about the place, just a regular hotel with what you expect from a hotel.
I had a fantastic stay at Baymont by Wyndham Page Lake Powell! The location was perfect for me - situated just minutes away from the breathtaking Horseshoe Bend lookout, I was able to easily access one of the most stunning views in the area. The hotel also offered great value for money, with comfortable and clean rooms at an affordable price. I especially appreciated the complimentary breakfast which helped me start my day off right.
We booked two room that were big. The hotel is well located, close to lake Powell, HorseShoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. The breakfast was ok, a little plus for the homemade waffles.
The room was good, happy that there were two chairs and a table, made it easier to eat in the room. I thought the view of the hotel would enable us to see Lake Powell, that wasn't the case. Staff was nice and helpful. The business centre that was made available to guests, was convenient
