Everything is very new and fresh with contemporary decor. Breakfast was wonderful with a great and varied selection of both hot and cold food. They also own a beer hall next door where you get 10% off the bill on presentation of your room card. Food here is pretty typical German beer hall and surprisingly good too. Staff were very helpful and friendly as well. If I had one criticism, I found the bed too soft, but hey my partner loved it so it really does depend on your preference. In terms of TV Chanel preference I would like to see a few more English language channels given that we were in a 1 fed suite with 2 TVs. Although it’s not in the old town it only took a 10 minute drive to get there so the location wasn’t a problem either. Would definitely book here again if back in Plovdiv.

Everything was really good. From the check-in until the check-out. Modern rooms, with a very nice bathroom. Awesome and comfortable mattress. The TV worked with screen mirror, we could use Netflix, for example for the phone. Breakfast was continental, really complete with food from Bulgaria also. There was parking, free of charge on the hotel garage. At the time, they closed the restaurant in the facilities but got a discount to go to the restaurant next door. 2 mins walk from a big supermarket and less than 10 minutes from the historical center. A taxi to the historical center would be 5lev or less.

Am stat in Plovdiv o noapte in drumul spre Grecia datorita...
Am stat in Plovdiv o noapte in drumul spre Grecia datorita orarului feribotului. A fost o surpriza foarte placuta. Orasul vechi este foarte frumos si aranjat, exista o zona boema "Kapama" cu baruri si magazine de arta, o zona pietonala cu magazine si restaurante foarte animata si un parc cochet. In plus sunt mai multe ruine romane imprastiate prin oras si o moschee mare. Am incercat un sigur restaurant in zona veche si a fost ok. Cu siguranta o sa revenim, probabil combinand cu o excursie la Sofia.

Plovdiv is a great little town with lots of history.
Plovdiv is a great little town with lots of history. Anybody who wants to spend a weekend visiting historical sites in the Balkans, this is the place to go! One of the nicest things in Plovdiv is it's arts and crafts - you can find artisans making all kinds of traditional objects, as well as a lot of shops selling very old collector's items. There are also beautiful graffiti all over town. A very green city, nice to take walks and hikes on it's many hills (7). It's also very close to the Balkan mountains (about 1 hr drive), which are definitely worth a day's trip to see.

Teatrul antic, Stadionul roman, Orasul Vechi, Muzeul etnografic, urcarea pe colinele orasului. Restaurant Rahat Tepe, varful dealului Nebet Tepe, are preturi rezonabile si mancare buna, iar privelistea este excelenta Excursie de jumatate de zi la Fortareata lui Assen si Manastirea Bachkovo cu parcul natural situate la 20km de Plovdiv. Intrarile in capela si in muzeu costa. Atentie !!!! NU EXISTA BILETE SI ESTE POSIBIL SA FITI PACALITI! Se mananca bine la restaurantul Vodopada la poalele dealului manastirii. Nu prea exista indicatoare rutiere, asa ca e bine sa aveti GPS. dar in centrul vechi sunt placute pentru obiectivele turistice. Harta cu Orasul vechi se poate lua de la centrele turistice, este unul chiar langa posta mare din centru pietonal. Tinand cont ca in 2019 o sa fie Capitala Europeana, probabil ca lucrurile se vor imbunatati. Dupa 12:00/ 01:00 restaurantele si terasele se inchid, dar raman deschise cluburile si cateva chioscuri cu mancare fast food.
