How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Some of the rooms didn't have AC and lacked privacy/fresh air as windows opened into interior of building
Breakfast was delicious every day. Cute garden in the back and free coffee and cake throughout the day made it feel very homey. Would definitely stay again.

could be a tad cheaper and bonus would be to include a laundry service. but I am being difficult - this place was wonderful :-)
beautiful hotel! very comfortable, perfect after 3 days trekking / camping through the valley. amazing location, just a few minutes walk from all the restaurants and bars.

Bathroom is very small
Good value for money. Convenient hotel for a halt before or after a trek in Chapada Diamantina. The room is simple but comfy. Staff is nice. Location is quite good, not toi far from the bus station and quite close to the restaurants and bars

Probably my favorite thing about this place is that the staff is super friendly and can help you with any information you need. The place is very pretty, clean, and comfortable which is important when you are doing outdoors activities and need to get good rest afterwards. The breakfast has good, varied options and it is served in the first floor overseeing the garden. Really enjoyed my stay here, would come back again !

We have been travelling for 3 months and this was the best accommodation we stayed in throughout our time in Brazil. Lovely, spacious, clean rooms; great breakfast with lots of variety; ideal location in proximity to the bus terminal, restaurants and local trail routes; comfortable areas to relax; really helpful hosts and free tea, coffee and cake which is so nice to come back to after a day exploring Chapada!

Our room was on the ground floor and therefore quite dark.
Confortable rooms with amazing bathroom, great location (away from the noise but only a few min walk from the restaurants etc), good breakfast.

1.location is good, close to the bus station(5 min),pharmacy(2 min), supermarket (2 min). 2. it is pretty clean. This part is the part that i care most. 3. it has a great cost benefit. 4. there is a shower room and you can pay 10 reais for shower without towel after check out. i am in need of this because i have a night bus to Salvador. This is very considerable. 5. the staffs are great and helpful.

The garden room was very quiet and private, with an entrance through the garden and nice view of plants. Breakfast was good, and staff very nice and always helpful. Everything is super clean and well-kept. The location is super central yet a few meters off the main streets and quiet.

The hotel was very clean and the breakfast options were variable. The outside patio had a few hammocks for us to lay on and had a beautiful garden with bananas and a downstairs lounge to hang out. It was a quiet hotel and it was very quaint. I really appreciate the helpfulness of this stuff when I had lost my phone and they found a driver that was going to the airport to bring it to us before our flight. They helped resolve the issue quickly and smoothly and without worry! I highly recommend this hotel.

Really well located to visit Chapada Diamantina. The staff were very helpful from start to end, and the breakfast in particular was lovely. A delightful place to stay.
