How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We requested for an early check-in at the front desk. They told us that they will prioritize our rooms and will send a text when they were ready. We never received the text. The bathroom reeked of bleach when we first got in.
Right at the harbour. Near to all the must-go-to places in Victoria. Emma Karen was very helpful.

I would have liked a few more options for breakfast that were smaller such as cereal, oatmeal, muffin or bagel. The breakfasts that we had were very good. Staff were excellent! Breakfast a bit pricey also!
We have stayed at your hotel for the past 6-7 years when we visit Victoria. Everything we need is there: great room & kitchenette sometimes, bar, restaurant! Perfect location to walk or catch buses to sight- seeing activities!

No steps into/out of pool. Wanted to swim but due to some physical limitations I was unable to get in or out of pool with only a ladder. Was able to enjoy the spa instead.😊 Also had a little difficulty with bathroom, small and hard to move about. To be fair did not ask for accessibility room.
Location was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant on the premises.

The step up to the bathroom was a bit strange and the size of the bathroom was very small. Our stay was in May we had the window open you could hear people chatting outside on the patio from the restaurant directly below. Our room was directly across from a large Ferry that comes and goes from Seattle every day also the Seaplanes you could hear the engines.
I liked the harbour view from the window, also the sun does not directly shine into the room all day, if it is warm outside you can open a window and place the fan in front to keep the room cool.

It was a hot weekend, so the rooms got a little warm. The pool could use some more chairs or lounges.
The location of this hotel is excellent, it's clean and the beds are comfortable. There's a great bar with a patio that has huge, delicious breakfasts. The pool and hot tub are a nice touch.

The initial room booked into would of had us looking at contractors looking right into our bedroom. One bed room was extremely small. I would rather pay a little more for something just a little larger
Our initial room booked wasn't quite up your standards my friend went and discussed with the manager and the moved us to a far superior room that gave us a fantastic view of the hrbour

The hot tub was closed all weekend because someone “spilled something in it”. We’ve stayed here before and they had no pet fee but this time (only a 3 weeks later) they said that the management now implemented a pet fee… they nicely waived the fee “just this one time” but it does feel like the first time is free and they don’t communicate that to you. The walls are pretty thin.
The location can’t be beat. The staff is very friendly and the room was great. Parking is easy and free. The Belleville restaurant is delicious.

We found the restaurant a bit pricey and the serving staff were not super attentive. In fact, we went in with plans to stay for dinner but after one drink we found the service so poor (and no, it wasn't busy) we left.
The location is amazing...you can walk to everything downtown. Our room was great, the bathroom was a bit small but that's no real reason to complain. Staff were super friendly!!

The kitchenette needs more than two knives, forks, and spoons. I think calling a two burner hotplate a “cooktop” is a bit misleading. I notice that it wasn’t included in the photos of the unit.

Paper thin walls; could hear someone cough. Also not hotels fault, but they had a bachelor party on our floor with thumping music and could hear all that. Was a bummer that the hot tub was closed during our visit, but that’s just bad timing.
Great location, didn’t charge for parking or pet fee. Nice staff. Great restaurant below. Reasonably priced. Comfortable room, great water pressure.
