Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe sink in the bathroom didn’t drain
Room was great and I loved all the little bonuses you don’t normally get in a hotel room like the big fridge and the appliances

United StatesIt was a little noisy. There was a storm and some kind of gutter system that flushed water down a wall next to that apartment.
Location was good.

CanadaThere was no do not disturb sign for some reason which I didn't like. Also wish they had extra blankets as I got kinda cold. I also wish they had lotion in the toiletries and a full length mirror somewhere. also found it weird I could see myself in the mirror when I took a shower
I liked the location and space. Wish I had a reason to stay longer as the full kitchen was perfect for a longer stay. Had lots of appliances and a full fridge which was nice. Lots of storage as well which would be good for a longer stay.

United KingdomThere were some building works going on in front of the building which I did not mind, but others might feel affected by.
Very warm and informative welcome by a lovely receptionist. The room was very clean and well looked after. Housekeeping staff was exceptionally friendly. Room is bright with a big window. Bathroom is clean and all products are provided. Bed and bedding were very comfortable and provided for a good night sleep. Ideal location for visiting UBC and exploring the campus and its surroundings. Trails to the beaches are close by. Small kitchen unit with everything that is needed to prepare meals. There is ample choice from outlets on campus, though. Close to bus stops to downtown with regular services.

CanadaThere should be a sign on the lobby desk that says to ring bell when desk is unattended when checking in late at night. I didn’t initially see the bell and panicked for 15 mins on how I was going to check in at 1am in the morning.

CanadaPouring rain the whole time.
This was my third stay at the UBC gauge suites, and just like the other two times, it was just great. Check-in was virtually instantaneous, the room was clean, modern and very very quiet and extremely comfortable. It exceeded my expectations. Parking was $18 but wonderfully, it carried on the next day until 5 PM even though checkout time was at 11 AM so I was able to do all my work around campus and not have to pay for extra parking.

United KingdomThere was little that bothered me. If you're looking to spend much time in the room, particularly as a couple it might be a little snug. The rooms are on the upper floors and served by two lifts. One of those was out of order (on and off) throughout my stay which was slightly irritating bugt now I'm nitpicking.
The rooom was immaculately clean and well appointed, with eveything you would need for a comfortable stay. The accommodation is well located on UBC campus with lots of cafes and restaurants on site. The suites are a 2 minute walk from the campus bus station with a number of bus routes to attractions, the city etc. Buses are frequent and very affordable.

CanadaIt was really expensive. I feel UBC is really dinging you for the price of being on campus. I was actually a little shocked. Yes, it's a "suite" or I would say studio room with a kitchenette, but with parking it was a hair under $300. It wasn't worth that.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfy, but I would have expected a little more plush for the cost. There was also something weird with the pillow cases. They were so stiff, they almost felt like plastic. Maybe a bit too much starch there.
