How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

If you offer breakfast at least have better choice it was extremely poor for choice. However, it is off season and I would hope that service improves before the tourist season starts
Rooms clean, great location needs improvement. Shower was fantastic, not bad value for price

Wifi did not work at all, had to use my own data even though it states there was free wifi. Breakfast was slim pickings. No fruit, yogurt and one type of cereal with the milk left out for three hours and NOT in ice. Scrambled eggs, sausages and French fries every morning and one toaster. No healthy options at all. We stayed four nights and it cost $800 with taxes. NOT worth the price we paid at all. Place needs renovations badly as it is VERY dated. Smelt musty throughout the hotel.
It was close to the Centre 200.

The wifi didn’t work, there was only basic cable and the remote didn’t work for the volume/power

Operating the TV wasn’t straightforward and the TV remote didn’t “communicate” with the TV when hitting the power button. Phone did not work and breakfast items were limited. These issues were addressed and handled promptly. The inn has a potential of being a great place to stay without these minor glitches.

There were dead fruit flies in the fridge and there were flies in the room it was horrible.
Nothing, the flies in the room ruined it for me.

The tub had grime on it. I wanted to relax in a hot bath and couldn't. There was a piece of the bed frame that was sticking out of the bed and catching the front of my leg walking to the bed closet to the bathroom. Quite painful & the blow dryer filter was filthy. Hairs and dust from previous guests using.
The location and staff were super friendly & amazing. Thank you for being great! Also the view from our window was gorgeous.

Room was in a state of disrepair. The bathroom outlet was broken. The new wall-mounted hairdryer was unusable because it could not be plugged into the outlet because the cord was too short. There was a funky smell in the corridor and staircases. There was no elevator to access the second floor with luggage. I attempted to politely explain the deficiencies with the room to the lady at the desk and she was completely uninterested.
The hot and cold breakfast was good. The location was convenient for our purposes

The carpet smelled. The room was decorated with 80’s furniture and comforter. The place has nothing but stairs everywhere. I booked a ground floor room but was placed on the 2nd floor. As a disabled person, this was unacceptable. There was no one to help me with my bags. I paid more for 1 night at this hotel then most other hotels.

We were awoken to a party carrying on in an adjoining room. Bath tub had overflowed, hookers present and a very drunk guest. Quite disturbing. Additionally, I returned to my room for a day away, only to find room door blocked open by deadbolt and accessible by anyone.. nothing was missing fortunately. The breakfast was mediocre at best, dated equipment, dishes, utensils (could have used a wipe) orange juice was pulp only. Coffee was watered down. I was there for business with my tour group of 4 persons.. alarmingly upon check in they also wanted a 250$ damage deposit plus prepayment, even though total prepaid by Visa as security. The place needs a major renovation.. I would have a hard time bringing a a tour bus of clients there on a weekly basis in the present state.. The staff were pleasant but had no authority to make decisions.. welcome to call for additional details.

The facilities are not well maintained. The bed was very uncomfortable. The towels were stained. The carpets were not cleaned and the place smelled badly.
The location is perfect, The breakfast was not great but it was ok. The price was fair.
