The only option for female dorms was a 14 bunk dorm, there aren't any smaller dorms. It was very noisy with 14 people in a dorm with no doors, it made it very difficult to sleep. There were no privacy curtains on the bunks themselves. There are private rooms with a shared bathroom that I stayed in before, but very expensive.

The location was great- relatively close to buses to get around, and a few feet from white sand beaches. The kitchen was big and fairly clean. Bathrooms looked renovated and very clean.

The mattresses and the pillows could be much improved. The staff is, with some notable exceptions, decidedly unfriendly. I didn’t take part to the socials though so that might have changed my perception. However I often spoke to staff that seemed utterly bored having to answer me, who kept laughing and gossiping to other staff but faced me with an extremely annoyed attitude, and in general who seemed surprised and even bothered by my presence. As a solo travels, quite jarring.

Jericho Beach is wonderful. I highly recommend the bar at the top of the sailing center, best views in the city and cheap for Vancouver. The rooms are very functional, as is everything else. Bathrooms are great, cleanliness top. Lots of social activities that one might join.

Definitely not for people with disabilities or old bones sleeping on a bunk bed. Room was no where near the advertisement picture i based my desicion on. No close by to walk to etc. Store or coffee shops, a heads up to bring our own supplies would have been nice. Walking past many people in foyer watching you is disconcerting.

Clean and well thought out basic provisions. Bring Your own food drink and hygiene stuff.

I was very happy with everything except for the door to the dorm room. There were about 5 rooms with 4 people each in the dorm and the door closed so LOUDLY for hours on end. The door is self closing so every time someone entered/left it would slam and echo throughout the room. Otherwise, the place was great and I would stay here again if the door issue would be fixed.

Kitchen was dirty all the time a lot of travellers not cleaning up after themselves. Dorms need updating. Despite thinking you’re going to be in a small dorm, they’re actually loads of small ones all in one room so they’re massive

I liked the atmosphere, the kitchens ( though severely lacking in mugs), the people working were friendly and the bathrooms were kept spotless. The dormitory was totally adequate and people very respectful and quiet at night unlike a lot of hostels. Fantastic location

The location is a bit far away from supermarkets.

Nice location a bit outside if Vancouver close to the beach. It was really nice and had some awesome paintings on the wall. The dorms where big but it was really nice because they always had 4 beds together and than walls and towards the hall way curtains so you where not disturbed by the others as much.

There were no outlets in the dorm or lights, the only light area was connected to the whole dorm. Also the laundry facilities were closed for several days and there are no other areas to do laundry in the neighborhood which was not easy to deal with after work hours

the shared kitchen makes the hostel like a big family when lots of poeple cooking and eating their supper. It's a feeling of warm and happiness. And the landscape just outside the hostel, the beach, is amazing.

The room temperature was unexpectedly low in mid-April. Radiator in room should be turned on. Many bathrooms were non-foundational and closed. Had to go to the another one.

Location is awesome. One minute walking distance to the Spanish Bank Beach. The cleanness of restrooms was awesome.

No public transport to location makes it hard when you have bags and taxi is only option. Only two bowls in kitchen so it's like the hunger games trying to find the chance to use one. A few more mugs/cups wouldn't go astray either.

It was a bit cold in the dorm room.

It’s 12 minutes away from downtown by car and 40 minutes via bus. Easily accessible. It is located right on the beach. Very clean and quiet place. I like the privacy sections even in the dormitory. Affordable 👍

The doors entering the sleep quarter are very loud when closing. Should have signs telling guest to be quiet say after 9-10:00 pm. Some guest do there best to not let the door slam and others don’t.

The facility was very clean. I appreciated that. Some hostel are not very clean.

Not much natural light in the dorm - but that's a bit of a luxury!

Very clean and comfortable hostel with great cooking facilities especially. Comfortable bed. Located in a nice quiet spot, but super easy to get to the heart of Vancouver in about 45 mins by cheap and good public transport.

I arrived late and had to pound on the door for quite some time before anyone came to answer. I tried calling but no one picked up the call. It was a bit worrisome because it’s a bit remote. I also worried at night when I heard others coughing. Perhaps people should be advised to wear masks if they have symptoms.

Nice walking possibilities around the hostel. I also enjoyed the restaurant on site and the ample shared kitchen space.

I saw a cockroach in the kitchen. Also, bed was very uncomfortable; couldn't sleep very well.

Staff were very friendly. Other guests were also very friendly. Staff arranged nighly games nights in the TV lounge.
