This is such a pleasant, comfortable, convenient old worldly place to stay. We felt completely at home. Even the sound of horses trotting down the street pulling carriages added to the charm as we sat on the balcony drinking complementary coffee. A home from home in the heart of Victoria BC. Close to public transport to transport you to the scenic delights of the area.

Only a small thing, bath towels would be better if bigger and fluffier.

Lovely Edwardian charm. Slightly dated but well maintained in keeping with property. Great location, set amongst quiet tree lined streets just a 10 minute walk from the centre. Pub and restaurant on site, both lovely.

Since it was my first time visiting Victoria and staying at James Bay Inn, I was very pleased with the decor of the Inn, the room I was in, the wonderful food at the pub and the restaurant. I cannot think of anything that I did not like during my stay.

I loved the location of James Bay Inn, the neighbourhood is charming and interesting, close to downtown Victoria. I loved the friendly staff and their most helpful guidance to my questions about James Bay Inn and the area.

Lovely old property just a short walk from the harbour area. There's a pub and cafe as part of the hotel and can definitely recommend the food

Excellent cosy and comfortable hotel that felt more like a home and in a very pretty area, only a few blocks walking distance to downtown Very reasonably priced for such a handy location Large room was warm but also able to open windows. Loved the little touches like the coffee station in the foyer of a morning. Friendly, helpful, funny staff. Very clean & rooms smelt lovely. We had a dinner and breakfast at the restaurants on the premises and both were exceptionally well priced & delicious

Was there wheelchair access as only steps at front entrance (wife had twisted her ankle).

After arrival and some sightseeing in the region, a restful night, then off early to the northern parts of the island. The pub was a friendly environment with prompt service..

Love everything about the property and personnel!

Location is great, character hotel, cleanliness is excellent, outstanding value. The restaurant is wonderful, delicious food and reasonably priced. The staff are all simply superb, so pleasant, capable and helpful, with a delightful sense of humour!

No elevator but I knew that as building is over a 100 years old.

Location is ideal. Walking distance to so many things. Staff were extremely pleasant and the restaurant downstairs was super.

I could hear a lot of banging from the people above me, quite early in the mornings. Not the hotels fault and nothing noise cancelling headphones can’t fix

Kitchen needed to be updated. Countertop was chipped. Fridge and stove were passable. Linoleum in kitchen and bathroom could be updated. Internet was poor, needed to be re set frequently.

Suite was clean and staff came everyday to see if we needed supplies. The location was great. Walking distance to harbour, Beacon Hill Park, Ocean and grocery store. Had one dinner at restaurant which was very good. Would stay again.
