How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Centrally located. Can walk everywhere. We parked our car and left it for 3 days. Kitchen was nicely stocked for a family of 4.

The couch in my room smelled like stale old cigarettes leftover from a different Era. But other than that it was lovely.
The bed was very comfy, it was clean. The pool was nicer than I expected

No criticisms except that the hallways were very warm but there was a fan in the room.
The location was perfect for wandering around downtown Victoria. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. We were able to check in early so that we could go walking. There was coffee available in the lobby early in the morning and during the day. Good parking available. We had to book last minute and it worked out beautifully.

Have stayed here many times over the years and this time, it seemed like there were some "rough edges". The room was pretty sparse - lacked even a microwave. Hotel ice machine not working, half the elevators not working. Not up to their previous levels of comfort, maintenance.
Convenient location - close to downtown. Clean, mostly quiet room.

Staff is very friendly. Location is perfect being right next to the Parliament Building and the Inner Harbor. Room had everything that I needed. Looking forward to staying again!

The pool is in the basement so was a little dark. No chess set in the games room.
The location is perfect - very close to the centre of the city and right next to the parliament buildings. Very easy to walk to all the main attractions, shopping areas and restaurants. We were upgraded to a studio suite from a guest room for free. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a small, well equipped kitchen including full size stove and fridge/freezer. The games room had pool and shuffleboard. And there were lots of jigsaw puzzles, books and dvds if it was raining.

I wish they had a restaurant for breakfast. Also, for my previous stay the room had some dishes which was helpful, but this room did not. The cost of parking is high.
Everything was good for our quick visit to Victoria. I like the location. The room was quiet and comfortable.

We always stay there, because it’s comfortable and the location is amazing. The staff is always very friendly. The rooms are spacious and the sofa bed is spacious and separated from the main room, which is good for privacy. It has everything we need for a fair price.

Would have appreciated a few more basic items in the kitchen. Years of being a smoking room still linger but not a game cancel.
Large suite, comfortable bed, great location. Walk briskly to ocean front in ten minutes, harbour in five and downtown in ten.

No serious cons for this hotel. A swimsuit spinner dryer in the pool area or a retractable clothesline in the room would have been nice for wet swimsuits.
The location was perfect for exploring Victoria - easily walkable to the downtown area and ferry terminals. The room was clean and comfortable. The studio suite was well equipped and perfect for a lengthy stay. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The hotel had an exceptional pool area - really clean and with locker rooms. The game room, billiard room and laundry room were also clean and easy to use.

the noise from facing the parking lot.
