The road in front of the hotel was under construction which caused some noise or dust but it was not a permanent issues.

There is no self-park option at this time within 2 blocks of the property, although there is a valet option. Upon arrival we couldn’t find an adjacent drop-off zone, so had a fairly long walk with our luggage. Fortunately, it wasn’t raining. Better parking info could have been included in pre-check in communication.

The Royal Sonesta is an excellent value compared to other Yorkville hotels with similar amenities. Check in was a breeze and the service was excellent. Our room was well appointed, clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. A chef-prepared breakfast was included with our rate.

Location , bar, hair dresser, nail salon, staff are nice despite being very busy. Not many of them are always available so there was in few occasions a queue.

One thing that could be improved is definitely the wifi connection, it was quite slow and kept disconnecting. Also, although the pool was as per pictures, there was no sun bed / chair to relax on.

Nothing. It would be great if they had a laundry facility where you can wash your own clothes (we travel with kids and that comes in handy) but that would just be an extra benefit.

Staff were friendly, thoughtful and very competent. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay there again if visiting Toronto.

The small swimming pool could be a nice place to relax after half a day of rain if there weren‘t the swimming lessons for kids… It’s basically unusable in the afternoon. What bugged us most was the hotel‘s interpretation of „breakfast included“. The breakfast is not included, what is included - and only disclosed upon arrival - is a 30$ voucher per person for á la carte breakfast. Conveniently enough, there is exactly one breakfast on the menu, the continental, which costs 30$ with a coffee and a juice included. Whatever else you order, you are most definitely exceeding the 30$ because no drinks are included and you are charged for every single cup of watery filter coffee. This should be disclosed in the booking process so guests can make an informed decision.

Spacious, beautifully furnished room with almost nothing to complain about but the weird „smart“ fridge and accessory’s shelf (a sensor basically records if you take something and if you don’t put it back within a few seconds, you are automatically charged). Very nice restaurant, extremely friendly staff. Nicely situated in one of the most beautiful quarters of the city with a five minute walk to the subway and about 45 walking minutes away from the lake.
