How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Toilet did not flush well. Tub not usable, as no plug and no way to get water to go only in the tap, and not out of the shower. No extra blankets in the room.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Room needs upgrading, especially bathroom.

I dropped a marker behind the dresser, when I went to retrieve it that was an old empty beer can back there, my 6 year old also found another empty beer can under my bed. I had also stepped on something sharp on my way to the washroom in the middle of the night, i turned on the light and it was a small piece of glass. It didn’t break the skin much but I was happy it was me and not my 6 year old.
The staff were super friendly and professional, my 6 year old loved the pool! the breakfast was beyond expectations! Tasty and nutritious. The view of the river from my room was pleasant to wake up to and I slept really well, the beds were super cozy.

Hot tub was not hot, it was more like Luke warm water
I booked this place multiple times and we book it because there is a hot tub in the pool area. This time the hot tub was cold. My regular bathtub at home is hotter than it was. Disappointing as that was the reason why we book this particular hotel.

The television in room very small . To many ppl in pool must be locals coming for weekend swims we decided not to use thos facilities..

asked twice for additional desk chair because of back issues; yes they said but no nothing showed up; checked in while power outage with no emergency lighting - dark and dangerous hallways; both key cards stopped working at same time - went back down to have them recoded and encountered long line up to get to front desk - only one staff at front desk but manager came out a couple of times and did nothing to assist - waited 20 minutes to have cards recoded and no explanation as to why they stopped working. on checkout no staff at front desk and rang bell several times for about 5 minutes...sigh.

The bathroom was old and needs to be updated, the pool and hot tub are old. The pool area is run down and dirty. The hotel needs to be renovationed.

The hotel is an older property and is a little dated, but clean and friendly staff.

There was a problem with the keys. I had to return to the front desk twice because the key I given would not open my door. The receptionist young lady was very pleasant, but she took too long to register us. There were five waiting to register but no attempt was made to get another one to help

breakfast was okay except eggs were cold and rubbery, rest was okay. our room was at the top/beginning of hallway, next to front area and it was noisy, our dog barked when she heard thew noise.
room was comfortable although could have used an extra blanket and pillows, location was good.

The tub didn't have a stopper and I had to stuff a face cloth in the drain, that didn't even have a metal guard if a ring had slipped of my finger it would have gone down the drain.
The building is showing its age and in need of fresh paint and caulking in the bathroom

Swimming pool was under maintenance. For some reason we ended up with the disability room special so the facilities were made for disabled. I’m not sure if I booked it or they put us there .
