Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOverall the place looked clean but there was a bit of grime and dirt on surfaces on closer inspection, especially in the bathroom around and behind the shower screen.
Layout, proximity to slopes, although still a bit of a walk to the nursery slopes if you’re a beginner. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurants were great and nice to have on your doorstep.

United KingdomWorse thing about this hotel was the lack of sleep, our room was next to the hotels boiler plant room with 2 new giant 50cm diameter outlets that I can only describe as roaring like a ferries engine every 2 minutes through the night, shaking the whole room and keeping us awake all night. We tried to complain, though there were no other rooms available. Earplugs helped but could still hear it, so basically had no sleep all week. Old and tired needs refurb, Room absolutely stank of smoke on arrival took 3 days of leaving doors and windows wide open to to clear. Average cleanliness, toilet wall behind door had a very nasty brown stain where someone clearly couldn’t get thier pants down quick enough. Sofa bed in lounge that our child slept on had a very large stain all over it which looked like someone urinated themselves. It was also very uneven and the front broken. Bar was very slow, clearly had a long season as one girl very miserable and hard work to deal with. We had dinner b&b, we had to walk 5 minutes up the road all week to another hotel as our restaurant was full and they bumped our group. dinner service was extremely painful, 3-4 hours to get through 3 courses, we tried our best to get them to speed up taking orders/service throughout the week, but there was no way, they move at thier own pace. Sometimes the food was ok other nights very very average. There was a quiet lounge with pool room which we’d like to have used but the fireplace smoked so bad as none of the staff attended to it that we couldn’t stay in the room more than 2 mins. Location is ok, good access to slope for good skiers, but bad for beginners as you have to ski down a very steep slope outside the hotel, which was often icy or mogully, so beginners couldn’t do it. To get to ski school they had to either walk 10-15 mins, or try their best to fall down the slope, then get a lift back up.
Location Family friendly Pool for kids Majority of Staff very nice and friendly Great heating and hot water

FranceThe design, the condition and the equipment of this rent was not what we expected for a four star residence. Basic features are missing: one single shelf in the living-room ... for 6 people. Half of the doors directly hitting the radiators' thermostatic heads. No bar in the 2 bathrooms or in the bedrooms to hang our wet towels. No cloth dryer. Beds and pillows too soft. No spare blanket or alike at the reception. Maintenance came quickly to fix the shower bar (staff was reactive), to change the leaking kitchen tap, and to the replace damaged or missing cookware. However, still, overall condition was poor and we ended up leaving half of our personal stuff in our bags during the week. In addition, the building was generally noisy. Please stop fixing bits and pieces ... it is really time to do a complete renovation I think!

United KingdomThe only negative I have to say is that the lift broke down on our last night of the stay and we were on the top floor leaving at 5am to get to the airport. Definitely not what we needed that early but these things happen.
This is our second stay with Les Balcons in Belle Plagne. The place could definitely do with a some modernisation however that didn’t affect our stay at all. The property offers ski in/ski out, I would probably say it’s not the easiest for beginners but if you don’t mind a short walk to easier slopes to start with, it’s great. I would recommend this hotel for families as it allows you to be all together and we were surprised with the kitchen facilities, although limited, it had everything we needed. There is also a lovely pizzeria/bar downstairs that has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food for reasonable prices (in the mountains).
