How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There isn’t anything to write here except we weren’t able to open two windows in the sitting area but to which way the sliding mechanism slides

Only slight challenge was the noisy road, which I know is to be expected in a city, but it was a very warm day and quite stuffy with all the windows closed. There was one air conditioning unit in the apartment, which could be moved room to room.
Apartments were very clean, well stocked with everything you need and did.the job perfectly for us.

20 minutes walking distance to city centre, or 5 minutes walk to tram/train station.
My room is facing inside the building. Spacious lounge and bedroom, high ceiling, very clean (likely recently renovated), nice decor, very nice tv in lounge and in bedroom, good kitchen. Very quiet (except the sound of rain on some structures outside my bedroom can be quite loud at night). Overall can’t complain. Very close to a Tesco Express and a Tesco Superstore.

The spiral staircase is quite tight if you have a big suitcase - we were travelling light so fine for us!
Lovely apartment, it felt brand new. Immaculate with all facilities including toiletries, coffee and kitchen cleaning materials. It is well located in a quiet part of the Jewellery Quarter, close to bars, restaurants and with a mini supermarket round the corner. We were two couples and had our own bedroom and bathrooms. Definitely recommend!

I didn’t immediately figure out the check-in procedure. But this is my personal carelessness. The staff gave me instructions twice and were very friendly.
A very carefully restored building. Preserved old window fittings that allow them to be used. Incredibly, divinely comfortable beds! Very good filling of the apartment in the kitchen. Everything is new and functions perfectly.

There was only one full length mirror in the hallway and no mirrors in the bedrooms
It was really clean. We got upgraded to a two bed and it was very spacious.

No mirrors in the bedrooms, and needed another lamp on the other side of the double bed. There were three of us staying in the property therefore there was only three of everything cutlery, glasses, plates which was a bit strange as you had to wash up each thing as soon as you used it and was not good if cooking a meal or having a take away.
The location and it was nice and peaceful, the beds were very comfortable

The amount of rules, felt like we couldn’t really enjoy ourselves due to the staff handing us a hard copy before leaving. You should be able to enjoy your stay regardless of it being an apartment complex. Been to many apartments and this is the only one with so much restrictions. You hold £200 from the bookers account so therefore you should allow them to be free when staying. I believe anyone who is mature enough will respect the apartment without being handed rules.

The only thing I will say for smokers is you have to go outside on the main street - it would be good to have a smoking area included that was sheltered from the rain.
This apartment was well situated around 12 min drive or a 20 min walk from main restaurants & shops. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and so CLEAN. The cleaners seriously don’t miss a speck. Our 2 bed apartment was well equipped and the beds were really comfortable. Heating worked really well & nice touch with shampoo, conditioner & lotion included. Would definitely recommend.
