Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA few things needed to make more user friendly. No drinking glasses. No towel rails or hooks. Difficult in damp weather to keep the cabin dry with wet towels and clothes draped everywhere No doormat so walked straight into small floor area with wet feet. A long walk from car park to cabin. Ok in dry weather. Not so good in the rain. Stayed 5 nights. Only 2 towels A few extra towels would have been welcome as they remained damp the whole time. Only small things and easily fixed to make the experience more enjoyable
Location was beautiful. Set on a stream in a few miles out of town. Peaceful and private. A small but cosy and comfortable cabin

United KingdomThere was a few things that weren't major issues for us, the sauna inside the room didnt seem to work, there was a small leak at the kitchen drain and there may have been a wasp hive starting near the bathroom window area, none of this spoiled the holiday though, be very careful with following a sat nav as it took us a drive up a private farm land and the terrain wasnt suitable for the car as the stones scratched underneath the car, if you see the sat nav instructing you to cross a small metal bridge, keep driving past it and the lodges are about 1 mile down the road from this farm
Loved the peaceful setting and the view of the river right out the front door. Place was so peaceful and relaxing, wish I coukd have spent some more time there to be honest

United KingdomI can only go on our stay at the time (Two lodges booked). Lodges were not completed. TV was still being installed in both our lodges and so no TV and so we missed the tennis and not so much more to do in such a remote area. We were informed that the TVs were not connected to anything and that a satellite system was being set up. It is a self catering lodge, but there were no washing up facilities, such as brush, cloths, washing up liquid etc. Liquid was left at our door when we mentioned it, but no dish cloths or anything else and so could not clean plates except with our hands. There are very basic facilities for self catering, like plates and knives and forks only. No complimentary tea or coffee available. Other lodges were still being built and or renovated and we were the only people on the site. There were saunas, but these didn't work. Parking is an open remote spot, just off the road. It was quite a walk from there to the lodges and had no lighting. We ended up parking nearer as there was no security for such a secluded car park. We paid £425 for two lodges for two nights. Although the lodges were not properly ready for guests, the small compact buildings were clean and comfortable, but shame we had to pay so much for something we were led to believe we're completely ready to stay in.
The lodge was clean and comfortable, set by a river and pretty remote.

United KingdomCouldn't find it in the pitch black and there was no contact number to phone to advise of my predicament. I tried to respond to the email I received but it bounced back. Not good if you cannot contact someone when you cannot check in!!!!
I couldn't find the site and when I did find it, I was walking through a forest in the pitch black. I am a woman on my own and travelling for business. When I got to the cabins there was not a cabin called "Nessie", I was getting a bit scared, so I drove back to Inverness and booked into a Guest House. I didn't actually stay at the cabins.

New ZealandWe couldn't initially relock the door. Who would have known that in Scotland you can turn doorhandles up as well as down! This prevented us from going out the first evening. The next morning a lady kindly arrived to explain this basic fact to us, and the door worked perfectly. Bring your own toilet paper, because by the end of the first evening we had run out - tiny little rolls, and not replaced. What we didn't like most of all was a rather draconian request that you park your car about a quarter mile away and walk your luggage to the cabin. We arrived back one day in a down pour and got soaked through to our underwear walking this distance. Even our passports inside our bags got drenched. Like I said the accommodation is OK if you are a young backpacker with little luggage. The planning of the place is not good, with a rough road right against the cabins and NO possibility of two vehicles passing one another (probably not even legal). Certainly not suitable for older travelers with 10-23kg luggage!
The location of this place is lovely, quiet by a stream. Facilities were adequate but OMG the size of the cabin is insanely small. This was totally the wrong choice of accommodation for us, being older international travelers. One we opened one suitcase in the cabin we could hardly walk/move around anymore. Double bed moved with one side against the wall, the place is so tiny. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were adequate but small.

United KingdomA couple of niggles rather than not likes. We know the Lodges were only opened 6 weeks ago, so there was some ongoing work being done, including anti slip paint being applied on the boardwalk from the carpark. The trolleys at the carpark were a great idea. Except previous guests had left them open to the elements, so we nearly ended up with wet items ( we turned them upside down to dry and then put covers on for the next guests). We would have appreciated 2 stools to use at the Table. The toilet seat and cover refused to stay up ( had to use some tape to hold it up) and a couple of bulbs had blown
Appreciated the location and the newness of the Lodges. It was obvious a lot of work had gone into getting the Lodges in place and making them unique. Our lodge was well equipped for our stay.
