We stayed for just the one night in Chester to visit the zoo and explore the city which is well worth a visit. The hotel position was perfect on the edge of the city and just a short walk to the centre or by the river. The hotel staff were most helpful and friendly. Breakfast perfect and lovely to look out across Chester horse racing course. When we visit Chester again we definitely return to this hotel.

Snack bar provided in rooms but have to pay. Don't provide them in each room if you expect them to be paid for. Bar was very expensive for drinks

Lovely rooms, had a choice of a balcony or bath on arrival which was nice. Beds comfy.

The price was a little steep, tv remote didn’t work properly (probably low batteries) & an additional towel would have been appreciated.

Staff were incredibly helpful, welcoming & accommodating, particularly the night manager who was on reception - he is a real credit to the company. Rooms are a good size with nice decor.

I could not understand why a credit card was copied when we had paid fully but still did not allow for goods to be put onto the room.

Not too keen on the tapas style dinner menu, although the food was good and well presented. The restaurant staff, although friendly, were not very efficient.

Spacious room overlooking the racecourse. Good breakfast selection. Underground parking. Quiet location within easy walking distance from the centre of the city.

TVs in room needs updating. Should have had more staff on desk for check in. The sole staff member was diverted due to a false fire alarm

Shower was blocked so had to keep them short. It was noisy in the morning as room was close to lifts. Breakfast was lovely but service was slow. It made us late for check out.

Didn't have what I wanted for breakfast even though it was on the menu. Waited for orange juice for 5 mins at breakfast, no one around to ask for more coffee etc on one particular morning Drinks overpriced

The dinner we had in the evening was excellent. The bedroom and gym facilities were higher than my expectations.

Low staff presence at breakfast- they were very short handed . Looked like staff hadn’t turned in - they just about coped but it made us quite late by approx 30 mins - a long wait for breakfast- sadly

Breakfast was like a slapstick vintage comedy. Is it so hard to give your paying guests there coffee or tea at breakfast time within a few mins of being seated. We don’t ask for much. 20 mins later still waiting. Wasn’t that busy. No direction from the manageress. It was only like that on the last day. Also the first day at breakfast they didn’t recognise our room number. They had to phone reception for confirmation. Also they didn’t clean the room as they didn’t think anyone was in the room until I complained. Apart from that it was fine.

Some of the fixtures could use some updating. The door handle for the ensuite was loose and the bulb over the dressing table was far too dim to actually be useful.

The staff were so lovely and the room was nice and clean with a great view. It was peaceful and comfortable, and only a short walk to the town centre. I took my daughter for a little shopping trip and this was the perfect place to rest afterwards. Would recommend.
