How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No cooked breakfast before 9am although this was a Saturday morning however there was ample food for a cold buffet to help yourself with. I needed to be at a nearby show for 9am but was not a real problem.
Excellent friendly staff very clean fully functional double room comfy bed neat on suite.

Hotel is dated and needs work. Water marks on the roof where damage has occured. Shower surround had mould and needs attention.
Staff and food were amazing, shower was powerful and plenty hot water. Room was clean and bed was comfy. My meal at night was simply delicious, the steak was cooked to perfection.

The shower door was broken and the traffic noise continued through the night. We should have closed the bedroom window.

Mobile phone wi-fi connection wasn't great and kept dropping the signal.
Recently and tastefully decorated throughout. Couldn't fault the breakfast and if you want to fill up for most of the day then go for the full Scottish breakfast. Located a short drive from the centre of Inverurie and easily accessible by foot if you don't mind a bit of a walk. Large room with ample storage and comfy lounging chairs provided.

We didn't use the restaurant on this visit but have done so in the past. Our room was clean, comfortable and breakfast was really good, with a good choice of items. We'll be booking again for our next family get together.

Cold room no hot water for the shower. No reception and left alone overnight eg locked door no reception and no staff quite strange.
Food was excellent but the menu was small. Limited choices cooked very well. Dinner Breakfast was decent low quantity good quality.

Towel rail badly positioned. I kept burning myself when getting in and out of the shower. Toilted was not very well secured and kept moving.
The room was fine. Good car park. Excellent staff. Breakfast was good. Post code does not take you to the hotel. It's on the opposite side of the dual carriageway.

what i didnt like was if you went outside in dark was no lights on at main hotel i tripped on step as i didnt see it told a member of staff but was still same next night

Somewhere to relax in the evening. The restaurant was lovely but a cosy area would be welcome

The only thing I would like to see is light at the entrance so you can see the keypad to enter the hotel and a light by the end of the hallway to see to put your key in your room door. I think the bulbs were out
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room in the hotel was very clean, modern and the bed was comfy.

Breakfast was superb, selection of continental and cooked Scottish. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Parking was really good and easily accommodated me with a trailer. This is our 3rd stay here, love it.

The chalet rooms are a tad small compared to the ones in the main building.
The restaurant serves very good food and breakfast was made to order which is a nice touch. Lady who took order at breakfast really welcoming and friendly.

In the double room, only one bath towel was provided. Bed could’ve been a bit more comfortable. The family room bathroom light at sink wasn’t working.
The breakfast was excellent, served by very pleasant member of staff.
