    No complaints.

Light, generous rooms. Had all the things you’d expect a hotel in this range to have, and the staff were lovely.

    Rather drab and dated decor

Clean, quiet room, reasonable value, hotel very well located for our needs; the bar was handy for a quiet evening drink; plenty of car parking space

Rooms need updating. With just some care and investment, it would benefit from better led lighting and insulation. The room door had a huge gap underneath, so noisy, put a towel but still. The window did not close well, thanks Gos it was summer, a double window would make a great difference. All the bathroom needs a change of silicone sealant and the from panel of the bath, the bathroom door needs the bottom covered as the wood was all bloathed and humid. Just a bit more of love it would make it a great affordable stay close to the centre.

Building itself is a lovely old hospital/ hospice, with lots of character details. Common areas were uodated to a good stabdard. Parking was included in the price. Goid sized batroom with great steam of hot water.

Musty smell on landing at top of stairs, immediately outside bedroom. Shower not very powerful. No vegetarian/vegan sausages at breakfast. Decor quite tired.

Comfy large room. Breakfast very generous. Nice bar area. Convenient location. Friendly staff.

    decor, thinness of walls.

Bed was really comfortable, the hotel is in a really great location, close to where i needed to be. The staff was extremely helpful and just couldn't be anymore helpful. Hotel itself needs a little upgrade, would defo benefit from a bit of modernisation but that's just my personal opinion. I would 100% book again, the free car park is a really good addition, and the unlimited breakfast is really good value for money.

There was no view out of the window as the windows are high up, but the windows were large so there was outside light. No issue really.

A large single room (room 125), old fashioned but clean, quiet and the tv worked. I liked the covered courtyard where I had a warm, eat as much as you want, buffet breakfast. Easy parking in front of the hotel. Around the corner where I walked in the morning there is an interesting cemetery and the blue glass shop where I watched glass objects being made. Although the exterior of the hotel looks faded, inside, the hotel has all you need and is well kept. There was a restaurant and bar (which I did not use). Staff were friendly and if no one was around (it was a quiet day), you could ask and someone would turn up to book you in or take your room number for breakfast.

the party they were hosting was very loud and went on late into the night. it would of been good to have a pre warning that this would be going on. Also the £20 safety deposit should be told about in advance when you book or have just booked, not when you arrive.

The hotel did provide 2 fans for the room however even with these on and the windows open (they opened about 2-3 inches) the room was still very warm.

Lovely location, large free car park and plenty of space in the room.

Bedroom- damp mark on ceiling above bed, one window wasnt fully closed- so created a bit of noise from outside. I feel like for the price, the ceiling and walls should look cleaner, window shut etc Or price should have been around £70 not £101. Restraurant only had a handful of items available off the menu so we ended up going to a pub to eat.

    Breakfast, look of the building

The hotel is extremely dated and in need of TLC. The room smell was awful, it was masked by some terrible smelling freshener. The bathroom stunk of stale cigarettes that was nauseating. Furniture was old and grotty, I didn’t feel comfortable at all, couldn’t sleep because of the smell. I didn’t want to eat breakfast there as the quality and cleanliness of the hotel put me off.

The outside looked nice and nice bit of garden (grass) to walk on with my dog before bed.
