Rooms dated, we stayed in room 1 the cleaners missed rubbish under the bed.. I didn't move it so might still be there.

Beautiful venue, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, didn't eat there but the food looked and smelt amazing

That the extractor fan did not extract the steam from the bath/shower and that the curtains were poor quality. They let in a ton of light.

Bit disappointed with breakfast didn't know it was buffet. Also no one told us you had to order eggs only found out as overheard someone. Staff need to tell customers when entering the restaurant.

Lovely old hotel. Staff very nice and friendly Dined in the restaurant for an evening meal food was very good. Room was spacious and clean. Lovely grounds to the hotel.

Bathroom was tired and needs bit of work doing to it. Was woken twice in the night by noisy guests so as we couldn't sleep very well, checked out super early the next morning.

Room was nice and big, huge bed which was comfy.

We wondered how so many young people could afford the rates at the Lodge. There were a number obviously living there. We would have appreciated the information regarding their arrangement for accommodation at Bestwood Lodge. Also, it would be good to reserve a few guest parking spots for guests when a major event is taking place. The woman welcoming people to the event directed us to the bottom of a steep hill to park. We are in our 70's and have health issues making this not appropriate.

Wonderful staff and very interesting history. Location is gorgeous, surrounded by woods and walks. Breakfast was good with sufficient choices.

Not detrimental but couldn't book breakfast when I booked. But managed to pay on the morning. Light streamed in on the morning as curtains didn't cover all the way.

Room was beautiful, large bed really lovely place. Late night check in helped due to event at Motorpoint arena

My room was very dated and the shower was shocking.

As a single female the staff made me feel very welcome and opened up the restaurant even though I had a bar meal. I did not feel intimidated at all. My room was of a great size and I slept remarkably well.

No bedside lamps in the room so no way of turning off the lights once in bed. No extractor in the bathroom.

Good breakfast, wide range of products on offer. The hotel is very secluded hence was quiet, no traffic noise etc. Easy access into the country park which had lovely walks and lots of birds to see.

My room was exceptionally cold. Heating didn't seem to be working. It was the first week of December when I visited, so was a pretty cold time of year. There was also a large amount of ladybirds around the window of the room, and crawling on the carpet. Surprisingly as it was December. Also, thought my stay was quite expensive, considering it was room only,in which the heating didnt work. Would of been well priced if breakfast was included and a heater.

Location was beautiful. Hotel is a stunning old building. Bar area was lovely and cosy, with the real fire burning.

Rooms a a little tired, stained carpets although bedding appeared clean. Lots of electric extension cables as rooms are understandably 100’s of years old.

Character of the building. Open fire, chesterfield sofas and lovely forest walk. Don’t expect luxury- it’s a building needing a huge cash injection!

Our bedroom was in need of refurbishment. it was a very large room that seemed to be furnished with items from elsewhere. There was little thought given to the layout. for example the only mirror in the room was so far from a power point that its use during blow drying was impossible

The Victorian public rooms were comfortable. The staff were extremely good.
