How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Broken toilet seat, sloping ceiling in room, meal service, not told of items on menu unavailable until we ordered them, no wine list until we asked, steep stairs, car parking - in an out of the way area

The bed was uncomfotable both matress and pillows When we first arrived as a late check in there were toileteries laid out, thoughthis was remdied the following day.
The staff we met on reception were friendly and efficient

Hotel decoration needs updating. Breakfast quality and quantity not great.If not included would not have paid for it.
Good location 5 minute walk into town. Staff friendly and accommodating.

The breakfast was ok, but no proper condiments let it down as not a big fan of sachets. The hotel is a little worn around the edges. Limited parking out front...although there was overflow parking around the back it was dark and felt unsafe as I arrived when dark.
The staff were really friendly and the hotel had a nice bar and breakfast area. The size of the room I was in was good with two big windows making it nice and bright. The location was great as not far from my meeting location and the location was in a quiet area.

The room was not properly cleaned before hand. The toilet had been used but cleaning staff left it so I had to get rid of the number 2 💩 with 3 flushes. Not impressed.

Difficult access to room up narrow and steep stairwell. Mismatched bed linen. Tiny shower cubicle and layout of bathroom. No sign of recent refurbishment.

It was a little expensive for the standard of facilities provided.
It was very close to the event we were going to which is why I chose this hotel.

The hotel is very ‘tired’; the annex smells heavily of cigarette smoke; appears to be ‘dying on its feet’; on a Friday and Saturday night the very nice bar was deserted. There was also a strange young man with a ‘tag’ lurking around day and night.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Well cooked breakfast

Climbing two floors to get to our room was a bit too much. The room and toilet were very basic. I did not expect it from Best Western. As we got the room on the top floor, the slanted ceilings were a bit of a hazard!

evening meal food was dissapointing, cheese burger with 11 chip and the cheese simply grated over the burger, not even melted. toileteries not replaced for 2nd day by room service and its odd having too order breakfast the night before as i don't know how hungry i will be in the morning.
the room was clean and location convenient, the staff were very pleasant and parking easy

Property was a little run down . Had to walk up three flights of stairs . Didn’t get room that was ordered . Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Smoke alarm flashing all night . Paper thin walls , could hear lots of noise . Faulty landing light which kept coming on/off all night . Not a lot of parking spaces .

As much as it was comfortable and clean it's obvious the hotel could do with some updating and thought the prices were a little steep from double room at £108 then £11 for a breakfast which was very underwhelming Staff were lovely in the restaurant and reception though
