Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The standard was superb, way above most rentals. Attention to detail & quality of everything was exeptional, from the natural oak beams to the kitchen appliences, bedding, even TV's in the en-suits! We have not seen this level before ! Simply superb and we will be returning..

United KingdomI don't think there is much at all I could fault.
This was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. We have stayed in a number of places over the years and this place probably had the best finish of any of the places we have stayed. It was nice that there is a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor so you can stay all on one level if you want to. Great location for getting to the shops. Has everything you need for a home away from home stay.

FranceThis place is absolutely fabulous. New build but characterful, it was warm and cosy with great showers, soft bedding, comfy sofas and nice ambient lighting throughout. We didn't use the garden with it being -2 outside but can imagine it being a lovely spot in the summer. It also has a fab cafe next door for delicious brunches and coffee.

United KingdomNothing really, if I had to mention one thing the shower ran hot and cold unexpectedly, but the weather was so good it didn’t matter.
Box is a lovely little village. Cedar Lodge 2 was just amazing. It has so much to offer, 2 large en suite bedrooms and a large lounge/well fitted kitchen area, we loved it.

United KingdomIt’s a shame the double beds have twin mattresses.
Attractive, clean, equipped well, tea and coffee provided. Nice towels, nice bed- linen, shower gel and shampoo provided, super showers, good parking, sweet garden with outside table and chairs, surprisingly quiet despite being in the heart of the village. Handy local shop 2 mins away. Coffee and breakfast cafe next door.

GermanyOne thing we really didn't like was the ground floor bedroom mattress, it was very soft and lumpy. Pillows and bedding very nice though. The garden door couldn't close properly, we had to prop it shut with a brick to stop the clattering in the wind. Heating is super quick and efficient, but radiators a bit noisy when the heating is on. Having blackout curtains in the bedrooms would be a plus, we used our travel one for our toddler's afternoon naps. Overall a great stay!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Lodge. Location is excellent, off the main road so no noise from the street. Parking for one car was super convenient, just in front of the house. Convenient store is very close by, pharmacy as well. The house is modern and tastefully furnished. We visited during the Christmas period and liked the decorations and the Christmas tree. The house has a highchair which we found super useful as we were travelling with our 1.5y daughter. There is also a baby gate at disposal to stop the kid going up the stairs, but we just put a couple of chairs in front of the steps. Overall a wonderful three day break!

United KingdomBeds had single mattresses zipped together which caused one to fall into the middle. Parking only seemed available for one car , yet parking in the area itself was very limited. We managed to put both cars in the driveway but we’re asked to move one. If they both fit and the drive belongs to the property, not sure what the problem is.
High quality fittings. Beautiful village with great cafe, butchers, pubs and a convenience store. Lovely garden area enabling you to eat outside if you wish. Excellent cleaning products available including a washing machine if needed. In terms of cleanliness, everything had been thought of.

United KingdomA small concern was that the double bed was actually two single mattresses.
A part from that this cottage is absolutely brilliant. The facilities are first class and the rooms are beautifully set out. Highly recommended. Would not hesitate to return.
