The breakfast staff. When we walked in before we even sat down we were asked "eggs ,scrambled or fried"? I said do yiu mind if we sit and get comfortable and have cereal. The lady was persistent and I said fried,but nit until I've eaten my cereal and then cooked my toast. She plonked down 1 hard dried up fried egg as I was still eating cereal. Also brekky was at 8 but they were still filling the bay Marie at 8.15 so only half ready and mushrooms were raw. This needs addressing. Especially since accommodation was great.

Not a dislike but for the smaller rooms perhaps don’t have a second bedside table and have something to put suitcase on. As it was I was a single occupant so could have case on the floor near the window. Possible issue for a couple.

A home away from home. Brilliant! Very clean, comfortable beds and choice of pillow types. Breakfast was great. All staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely, bright super-clean bedroom and bathroom with all new fixtures and fittings. Super comfy bed and excellent shower. The room was nice and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Outstanding, well organised breakfast. Free on-site parking.

The property was spotless and house was beautiful inside, the rooms were really spacious with a comfy bed and excellent walk in shower.a fantastic breakfast with fantastic coffee. Easy walking distance into Chester city centre. We will definitely stay here again.host and staff very friendly

Couldn’t open the window in the bedroom and it was stiflingly hot. The breakfast was strange as the egg (fried or scrambled) arrived before we had a chance to finish our cereal. Also had to queue for breakfast as the number of tables didn’t accommodate the number of rooms and we were rushed out again to let the next people in. There was no muesli the 2nd day of our stay. Such a lovely place could do so much more to enhance the stay and make it excellent.

Room was really lovely, comfortable beds and great bathroom. All spotlessly clean well equipped and super soft towels. Handy off street parking.

No Ev charger on site but they are close by, so not really a problem.

Warm friendly, professional staff. Room, decor, cleanliness excellent, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast, Wow! Excellent choice, with a choice of eggs, full English continental with hams, cheeses, fruits, toast with a choice of various spreads and jams, honey, fruit juices, tea or coffee, all help yourself and eat as much as you like. Can't wait to return.

Breakfast good, but beware Gestapo ladies ! Breakfast between 8am and 9am means just that. We arrived 8.45am, expecting the usual 30 minute grace to enjoy after 9am. No way! Surprised when asked how we wanted our eggs after being told to help ourselves to the buffet breakfast. Good choice of food and fresh. Whilst eating our cereal, fruit and yoghurt starters we watched a fried egg and scrambled egg cool and congeal in front of us. Hubby enjoyed his cooked breakfast and added his fried egg. I decided to skip my cold scrambled egg and went straight to toast and cheese. Dishes whipped away as barely placed cutlery down. Coffee machine made excellent coffee. But when hubbie went for second cup the machine was switched off and they refused to switch it back on. Caput sign! This was only 9.10am! A couple arrived at 9am and were told that breakfast had finished. They were reluctantly told to sit down and help themselves quickly to whatever was still on offer. They had thought it was 8am to 10am as per weekend. I offered them my scrambled egg! We were initially put off by this. But had enjoyed the facilities , room and location so much, decided it wasn't a deal breaker and would return but arrive for breakfast at least 30minutes before shutdown....

Location excellent. Room great. Lovely decor. Toiletries and lovely fluffy towels in ensuite. Chocolates on pillows! Coffee and tea making facilities. Microwave and fridge in Room. Friendly greeting by Ray. 5 minutes walk from good restaurants and pubs. Superb Chinese meal at Shanghai.

Room was really nice, big enough for me as a solo traveller, but possibly would prefer a more spacious room if visiting with my other half.

No full length mirror in the room. The website gives the wrong time for checking in.

Ample parking. Very accomodating as we arrived earlier than anticipated. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. The cooked breakfast was served hot. Both hot and cold selections of breakfast were very good.

The bed & pillows could be a little softer

Chester Guest House was very clean, comfortable & near lots of facilities. The breakfast was exceptional. It was self service with everything you could think of from cereal, yogurts, full English to fruit & danishes. The staff were very pleasant & helpful. Ray was a wonderful host, thank you.

Breakfast - the lady who runs the breakfast room is very rude. 1st morning ok, 2nd morning arrived at 8:30, no space to sit so asked to come back. Did so 5 mins later, no bacon, fruit or yoghurts left. Asked for more only to be told there wasn’t any. Milk was off in coffee machine so couldn’t have a decent drink. Felt very rushed as it got to 8:55 & felt under pressure to leave by 9!!

Room good and bed comfortable plus a lovely large shower in the bathroom. Breakfast excellent with plenty of Gluten Free options available for those who are Celiac. Friendly, helpful staff member on arrival. Easy walk into Chester where there are lots of eateries, cafe's and bars and lots of museums and history if that's your thing. There is a Railway Station if you wanted to travel on an away day out of Chester if you were staying for a few days.

The stairs to our room, I should have requested a ground floor room. I am disabled, walk with a stick, so stairs are slow and painful for me.

Greeted by the friendly welcoming host. Shown to our room, talked through all facilities, breakfast etc. Wonderful walk in double shower, really comfortable bed in a bright airy room. Fabulous choice at the help yourself buffet breakfast. We had cooked, which was superb. Local farmers eggs were exceptional. The staff were friendly, professional and quick. Plenty of parking. Easy to get a bus into the city centre and back. And the weather was great!
