Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe hotel has no lounge or comfortable area to sit and relax, only the bar and restaurant. The main restaurant is not open at the beginning of the week. Rooms lack charging points for electronic devices. Only a continental breakfast as standard, cooked is a lot extra. This is an expensive hotel a full breakfast should be included.
The location is excellent, the hotel is functional and staffed by excellent and welcoming staff. The parking is simple and convenient.

United KingdomOur Executive room was nice but due a refurbishment. A hotel of this standard really should be providing rooms with a high standard of decor. The painted walls had been badly patched up in parts, and were generally quite marked. There were some pieces of obviously unmatching furnishings and aspects just weren't really smart enough for a hotel like this. Breakfast times are allocated at check-in which means if you are later arriving then you can find - as we did - that all the most popular times have gone. If guests have commitments this really doesn't work. Whilst breakfast was good, we weren't offered any additional drinks, and cooked items were charged at a supplement (though it seems they are included if you book direct with the hotel).
The hotel is lovely - very well run with friendly professional staff providing high standards of service, from the doorman, to the seated check-in process, to being shown to our room, and the turndown service. Breakfast was fully table service. It is a traditional, heritage hotel that still has a air of luxury and fine service.

Pretty much everything. We visit the hotel once or twice a year as a present to ourselves. It's not a cheap booking, so we would only return if the hotel constantly meets or exceeds our expectations (as it did even when we had a small flood in our room from an upstairs guest's room a few years back!). It was no different this time, with our room, the public areas, breakfast and employee service being exemplary.
