Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDisappointing family room as it was as advertised on the pictures. 3 beds crammed into small space with my bed being by the main door outside the bathroom. Advertisement made it sound like it was a family suite, not just 3 beds in a normal hotel room. Outside looked rundown and needs a lick of paint.
Food was delicious and staff were friendly

United KingdomThe description of hotel says there is an outdoor terrace. This is kind of true, but you cannot eat outside, and in order to get to it with your drink, you buy it at the bar and go through the whole restaurant and have to be let out of a fire door, which you can't get back into. To get back in you need to walk around the whole side of the hotel to the front and go back in the main doors. Other things I found out that I wish I had known; there is no lift in the property, and our room was about as far from reception as it was possible to get, so it was a very long walk; the car park is chargeable via RingGo for non hotel guests (£15 for 24 hours) but the discreet signage which said guests don't need to pay was not displayed in the disabled parking area, so I paid when we arrived and then found out once checking in that I hadn't needed to, but nothing could be done about it by then. It was well signposted inside, but I am sure, like most people, I saw the signs saying you must pay or face a £100 fine, and wanted to pay there and then to avoid forgetting after checking in. Finally I found out during breakfast from the scrolling information screen in the restaurant that they do 20% Blue Light Card discount on all food and drinks, which would have been good to know having spent £80+ on food and drinks the evening before, but again this was not signed anywhere.
Very comfortable room (we booked a privilege room) with some nice unexpected little extras such as a fridge and air conditioning. Breakfast was really good, lots of options and good quality.

AustraliaWe had an issue with water in the bathroom but being there for only 1 night this did not bother us and John was helpful in reporting the issue.
Room was comfortable with twin beds. Dinner and service in the bar area was excellent. We used the Park and Ride a short walk away to get into the city and this trip took approximately 15mins and were dropped in the city centre which was so convenient to get to various sights. John on Reception was very welcoming and gave us lots of ideas on what to see.

United KingdomWould have been good if there could have been a small fridge or cool box in the room for my kids water bottles. This is the first hotel I e stayed in without one, and maybe more than one seat in a ‘family room’. Pool was fine but changing rooms left a lot to be desired!!! Very tired, showers awful, most of the lockers didn’t work and we were give a padlock and key for our locker which as it happened was actually able to open ANY of the padlocks (slightly worrying!)
Breakfast lovely and good value for money, I was especially impressed with the breakfast chef, so friendly and great with my kids, went and made pancakes especially for her, he was lovely. Room good, clean and comfortable. Parking was great and staff friendly. Went for evening meal one night and food was absolutely delicious!!

United KingdomThe shower was not powerful enough to have a good shower really, however on entering the hotel we were informed that they were having some issues with the water pressure at the moment, so we were prepared and appreciated the heads up. We were able to use the facilities at the pool, and have a bath in the hotel room instead.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from entering the hotel and checking in until checking out at the end of the stay. The facilities where good, and we were very pleased with the pool and sauna.

United KingdomThe hotel looked like it needed an update. The pillows on the bed were old and flat and hard. The TV was pointless as we couldn’t watch anything not even terrestrial or freeview and couldn’t screen cast to it either.

United KingdomNothing major - only one large bath towel and hand towel could have done with 2 of each really - no electric plug by the bed - had to trail cable for my CPAP machine (sleep apnea kit!) from hallway and have machine half way down the bed! No bottled water in the room or a mini bar.
Room clean an tidy with good space - excellent large screen TV, excellent WiFi, bathroom decent size, clean, functional and well laid out - good water pressure. Tea and coffee facilities. Beds comfy, pillow / duvet warm and right size for bed! Great service at check-in and check-out - very friendly staff, bar was excellent and well stocked. Hotel very quiet overnight - no noisey pipes or A/C and no rowdy guests.
