The restaurant meal was disappointing, and a dog belonging to another customer was sniffing around under our table!!

We loved the pool and the large bedroom. The location is perfect for us as it's close to the ice cream farm and is a good halfway point for our trip to Anglesey. The breakfast was wonderful.

All the floorboards were creaky - both in the corridors and the room. Rooms could do with an upgrade - showers/wardrobe

The bed was comfy and room was adequate for a short stay - no wardrobe was a let down. Bathoom was ok but the shower wasn't very powerful. Bar area was nice, as was the dining room. Spa facilities were good too. Free parking was a nice bonus.

Lack of staff around bar and reception when I was going to get a drink. Toilet cistern noisy. Didn’t spoil my stay and reported to reception on leaving

I have stayed in a number of Mercure Hotels and this wasn't one of the best or best value for money. Also I'm not a fan of a buffet breakfast, although this is only personal preference.

It was a nice hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean and it certainly met my expectations and the location of the hotel is ideal as it was only a £8 Uber ride into the city centre.

The lights pointing at the rooms overnight meant that it felt like sleeping in daylight and the curtains were inadequate at blocking it out.

    Generally everything was great.

The first room we were allocated smelt badly of damp. The second smelt badly of smoke. All rooms were very dated, with peeling paint. Bathrooms in all rooms were at least 15 years out of date. Overall disappointing. The good ratings are clearly not based on family rooms.

Staff were very helpful/friendly and breakfast very good.

The heating was on a timer- which made it overly hot or cold at certain times. The outside of the building does not reflect the nice interior of the inside of the building. Maybe the room could do with more storage space

Excellent location, park and ride near to hotel, so very easy and reasonable to get into town centre, enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Good facilities and staff were great.

The bedroom, the radiator was switched off, but because the pipework that feeds each bedroom runs through the bedrooms (not under the floorboards or through the loft space) the bedroom was continuously too hot. We opened the windows all day and night and still it was too hot. We we were forced to use the air-conditioning which gave us all dry/sore throats. Also, after turning the air-conditioning on the bedroom became very dusty (there was dust on the filter of the AC unit). The flooring in the bathroom needs replacing badly. The bar was extremely overpriced. I imagine some more upper-class people don’t mind, but if you’re going to sell your bedrooms reasonably cheap, your bar needs to be reasonably priced as well. There were girls either next door or opposite our bedroom who came back gone 2:00am screaming like children drunk and slammed the door which woke all of us up. We thought that we were put as far away from reception possible because we had a child, but then to have these immature ladies put next to a family room. We were a bit annoyed. But it was our last night so there was no point complaining. Even with the above said, I am still happy with my stay.

I don’t use hotels very often, but when I have in the past, they have been disappointing and dirty. Your hotel was quite the opposite. A very well presented bedroom, we were supposed to have a sofa bed, but actually we’re given an extra bed which was good. Your staff on the reception were polite. Everywhere, including the swimming pool was well kept, clean and well presented

Unfortunately there was fire alarm during our stay in the early hours of the morning; we were eventuallly told the cause but we felt that we could have benefitted from staff providing instructions; there was some confusion amongst all guests

The superior room met our expectations completely. We loved the separation of the sleeping area from the lounge area and the bed was awesome!

Attended a wake of friend at hotel. Issue with fire alarm being activate just after 1am and everyone had to mill about awaiting fire service. All clear given but 20 mins later it went off again. Fairly disrupted nights sleep.

There were items such as soured cream hidden in the fridge that were open and had been there since January looking at the use by date. It does concern me about the cleanliness of the room. The first room we were in smelt like the drains had gone.

Easy access to a park and ride. Bar food was very good and breakfast was also good.

Bedroom/bathroom was a little tired. The TV was broken, which didn't seem to have been previously reported. Changing facilities for the pool area were very old and in need of updating.

Staff were very friendly and the bar meal was good quality.
