How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Only booked for 4 nights would have liked to stay for longer!
Five star accommodation - from a friendly welcome from Simon who provided useful advice on places to eat and pubs to a great room. Large room stylishly decorated with all facilities you would expect, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice and everything freshly cooked. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

The host was very friendly and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. The guest house itself was clean, well presented, spacious and the facilities were all great too. On top of all of that, the freshly made breakfast was the best we’d eaten in quite some time! Location is ideal for visiting Llandudno and offers quick access to all of the main attractions.

Simon was very welcoming upon arrival, helping with luggage to our room, which was lovely, well furnished, very clean and had a useful small fridge in which Simon had thoughtfully left us fresh milk . Coffee, Tea and biscuits were also available. Shower room was very clean with towels and toiletries. Excellent Breakfast, and choices, Excellent location, very close to attractions. On our departure day, Simon even allowed us to leave our bags until we were ready to catch our train home, this enabled us to enjoy more time in Llandudno and have a last stroll down the pier. Much appreciated.

A beautiful hotel from room to breakfast we could not fault anything. Simon is the perfect host, we will definitely return when visiting Llandudno again. Thanks again Simon for a fantastic stay.

We had an amazing time. Everything was of such a high standard and far exceeded our expectations. The room was lovely, with everything we needed. The breakfast was freshly cooked and really plentiful. Perfect location. Our host Simon, welcomed us with a smile and it is obvious, that he really enjoys what he does. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend a visit. A 5* service.

Can’t fault this place. We stayed in room 2. My wife actually said ‘wow’ when the room door was opened. A lot of hard work has gone into restoring this Victorian residence. Even the dumb waiter is still in use. Tea, coffee. And biscuits are provided. Bathroom stocked with hand and shower gel. Breakfast is exceptionally good. A great choice available. Parking is available but limited. We parked on the street. The town is less than a minutes walk away. If you need any information or help. Just ask. Nothing appears too much trouble.

Simon the host was very helpful, and cooked an excellent breakfast, the room we stayed in was to die for, beautifully decorated and to very high standard. Having off street parking was a massive plus and we will definitely be going back.
