How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location! Right in the city centre and a short walk from the train station. Lovely host who was very helpful in answering any questions and replied to messages immediately. The lock box was round the corner from the entrance but directions were clear even a video was provided to make things easy to locate. The properly is very spacious and beds were super comfy. Bottles of water were even supplied which was a lovely touch. Property has ensuits, a large TV, plenty of books to read and everything was very clean! We will definitely stay here again if we visit Nottingham in future. Thank you 😊

I didn’t like the spotlights in the downstairs bedroom. Needed to be able to dim them, they were so bright if you needed to go to the toilet from sleeping. Access from the car park with cases down the metal staircase when it had rained and was covered in water was difficult.
The property was spacious spotlessly clean and well stocked with utensils etc.with lovely touches like bottled water, crisps and seasonings. Great mirrors fir getting ready fir the wedding, we could all get ready snd changed together. Thank you

We did not have a complaint about the house, everything was great.
Everything was just perfect and as we expected. The location is ideal and very close to pretty much everything in the city, with transportation really close to go to other areas. Very well explained, everything was clear and the facilities were very clean and comfortable to use. My son called it 'my dream home'.

minor things like no windows in the bedrooms lack of instructions for dishwasher, microwave.
Central location, extremely clean, very well equipped, good communication. Fans provided in each room for hot weather.

The only problems we had was being it was a city centre and we were there at the weekend, it got a bit loud at night, and we couldn’t close the windows because it was a bit warm already. But this is in no way anyones fault. Just a Saturday night in a university city!
The location is very central of Nottingham town centre, so it was easy to get to wherever we needed to be. The hosts communication was top notch, especially with finding the keys and the flat, the building is a bit of a maze so the videos sent really helped. It was clean and comfortable, we were very impressed!

The only thing is that to make sure to close the windows if you dont want to be disturbed by street sweepers and garbage trucks as the property is not too far from the high street. It was not a bother though jus that I am easily awoken, just a heads up for those who hate being disturbed.
The property was clean, the location was absolutely spot on and the host was very patient and helpful with helping gaining access to the property. Thank you for the hospitality and I would definitely recommend staying here again

One let down was the main bathroom room upstairs toilet tank would not refill on it's own but we had access to 2 more toilets, so this did not in anyway spoil our stay. This being no fault of the owner of the apartment but the stench of weed in the corridor was horrible and the noise from the drunken people outside was annoying. The fact the lift did not work was another downfall.
I loved the apartment. It was comfortable and equipped with all the necessities. Was easy to maintain as cleaning products were provided. Making a nice breakfast in the morning was easy, dishes were provided, pans, pots, you name it, it was most likely there and it had a local sainsbury just around the corner. Was in the perfect spot, as we needed to be in the council house early every morning.

The only thing I can think of is that we couldn’t work out how to use the dishwasher, however this was not a problem as a sponge and washing up liquid were provided
The location was amazing and the hosts really made sure that all possible amenities were there (tea bags, milk, towels, soap ect). Furthermore, we were provided with free wifi and the tv was connected to Netflix which was a really nice touch that we were not expecting- all in all the stay was fantastic value for money.
