Such a great gem of a place. Such a homely feel. Beautiful rooms. Great location; 5 min walk to the cathedral. Amazing breakfast baskets at your door (if you get breaky in bed).

We loved this little guesthouse close to the York town center. Easy 10ish minute walk from the train station. Staff super helpful and friendly, and we loved the breakfast basket delivered to our door in the morning. A quick walk to pubs, restaurants, shops, and the cathedral. We were able to leave our luggage for several hours to explore York before catching the train in the afternoon. Wish we could have stayed more than one night!

If we stayed again, we would call ahead and request a room on a lower floor. We had a lot of luggage on this trip and it was a bit of a struggle to the top floor. Room was a little warm and only the bathroom window opened... probably a good thing as it was raining in the morning and the "windows" were in fact skylights, being the attic room. There was a portable fan, but don't think there was any air conditioning, which could be more of a problem in the summer months.

Breakfast was fabulous. Staff were great and since we arrived late on first night, all communication and self check in were flawless. I found the bed super... my husband found it too soft for him... But the best night sleep I had for weeks! Neighborhood was very central but very quiet at night. Pub serving food right next door which was very convenient. Also quiet and not touristy. Complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby very welcome, and nice place to sit and consume them.

There’s nothing I didn’t like.

I loved the style of this accommodation, especially the dark walls and quirky portraits on the walls. The beds were so comfy and clean. Although four posters, they were contemporary in style.

Great customer service, they really make you feel important! Absolutely spotless, lovely toiletries. Good size, lovely view from the room. Wonderful location. Great breakfast (with Yorkshire Tea- absolute must!), with the fabulous option to have this in bed. Cozy lounge with great decor throughout. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

We loved the location, the quaint accommodations, and our room. It has a cozy cottage feel. There are little touches that go a long way such as snacks, a fridge to place items if needed, ideas for things to check out in the area and the best part is the amazing bed! Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Thank you for a beautiful stay, I definitely recommend and we will be back!

The only tiny little thing to improve were maybe the mattresses (for me too springy) but that is certainly a very individual preference :-)

The location is ideal, the staff super friendly and the room es very nicely done and the bathroom was huge, super clean and modern. Loved our stay! And the breakfast hampers were awesome, too!

We loved every minute of being at the guesthouse. The staff were lovely and the room was gorgeous. We stayed here for a birthday trip and greeted by birthday bunting and sweets. The guesthouse is in an ideal location close to everything you need. Breakfast was exceptional, very tasty and a great range of items to choose from. Being dairy free this was also catered for. We can't recommend this guesthouse enough and loved all the added touches of an area to make your own tea/coffee anytime and sweet treats. We'll definitely be back!

Could possibly have thicker curtains for summer, the sun woke me very early but wasn't a problem, just a suggestion. Would have liked eggs at breakfast but again wasn't bothered.

Lots of character, spotlessly clean and really beautiful. Very quiet. Loved all the little touches. Breakfast hamper had everything and was nice to eat in my room. Was nicer than some of the hotels I've stayed in in York. Really lovely place.

The only downside is very steep and narrow staircase with no lift and the size of the room. There is barely any room around the bed and the bathroom, when you sit on the toilet the sink is basically on your lap. This was okay for a night's stay but I wouldn't enjoy staying in such a small room for a longer trip.

It was clean, the staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was quite nice too.
