Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were absolutely delighted by our stay at the Covent Garden Hotel. A beautiful place with amazing staff. We stayed for two nights as we were getting married at a very low key event - and we felt really spoiled. The staff could not have been more friendly, we found a bottle of champagne in our room, the food was lovely, fantastic location and gorgeous living room/library to relax in.

United KingdomThe only tiny thing was that the air con was very noisy, so we weren’t able to have it on overnight, although the weather was very warm.
Kit Kemp is my favourite interior designer, so I’m already in love with all the beautiful interior details, colour schemes, fabrics and art in Firmdale Hotels, and this was no exception. The rooms are very well thought out, with plug sockets in all the right places, double sinks in the bathroom, lots of towels, very comfortable beds etc. Room service was very speedy, we had immediate help with all our luggage on arrival and departure, the concierge was super helpful, breakfast was delicious. It was altogether a great weekend stay, right in the middle of all that Covent Garden has to offer.

United KingdomDespite contacting the hotel in advance. Restaurant made a serious error regarding food allergens. Which could have resulted in serious illness and not being able to fly home. We were alerted to the mistake just before eating and many apologies were made.
Every member of staff was polite, courteous and professional

United KingdomNothing of any consequence. Some may want the facilities of a large hotel wit multiple restaurants etc . We preferred the intimacy of a small boutique hotel
Stayed in hotel many years ago .Staff could not be bettered. Nothing was too much trouble and requests ,for example ,for an additional bed were met with immediate delivery. The concierge were exceptional . Nicky ran up the road to open the barrier on our arrival and whenever we returned to the hotel we were greeted with a smile . Are we were leaving a lady walked in off the street 'having a nose ' as she described. One of the concierge staff greeted her and asked if she would like to view the drawing room / library.hH e then accompanied her on a brief tour- another prospective customer and in my view above the call of duty. Breakfast in the dining room is all it should be . We ate outside the hotel as we had our two daughters with us . Our suite was faultless and my two girls loved the TV in the bath ( not literally)Yes it is expensive ( we paid £1000 or so for two nights with breakfast for the four of us) but London is expensive and the hotel is so central in Covent Garden that you save a fortune in taxi fares. Whilst hoping to economise on our return home my wife loved the shampoo and body wash such that she ordered some on the internet .The hotel certainly doesn't stint on these, a tiny bottle of shampoo was £18 for 290 ml .I knew we should have packed the half empty bottles but there.

United KingdomNothing, all exemplary.
Along with many other people we had not been able to celebrate numerous special occasions this past eighteen months, so decided, for the first time, to book a luxury hotel. It really was quite something. Perfect location near to Covent Garden, easy to get to. Very friendly and helpful staff. Truly gorgeous decor around the hotel with quality art work. Spacious room which was also wonderfully quiet. Stunning bathroom with the biggest bath I have ever seen, luxurious robes for afterwards. Food in the bistro is of a high standard, service is efficient, friendly, and not pushy.

United KingdomRoom allocated was not what was booked and not advised upon check in that we had been upgraded but not a four-poster room as booked. It took 3 requests over 40 minutes to get a cup of tea in the lounge. Almost £80 for breakfast seemed excessive.
