How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Was nothing I didn't like! Great place to stay.
Great location with free parking on the roads behind and around the guest house, and is an easy walk into town. Iain and Anna are warm and friendly and provide a lovely breakfast with great choices and good conversation.

The breakfast was of very high quality and variety. It contained toast with a selection of jams and marmalades, cuts of cold meat and cheeses, cereals, yogurt and fruit.

Simply perfect. The house is lovely, the owners warm and welcoming, the room cosy ,well equipped, beautiful, the breakfast very good. Quintessencally british, the England of my Dreams.

No issues at all, we are somewhat leery of B&Bs but this one was exceptional. No parking on site but no issues parking around the corner on the street.
The owners Iain and Anna were wonderful hosts, fresh home made breakfast options, very friendly, the Victoria room was beautiful with many extra touches of eclectic nicknacks, nice back yard for relaxing, walking to nice restaurants (we ate at Thai Marina)

Anna and Iain were so incredibly welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us and they made us feel like friends rather than guests. There were snacks and refreshments available 24/7, the beds were really soft and comfortable, the rooms spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely and the homemade oatie biscuits and brownies were delicious! Will recommend this lovely guest house to all our friends and family, and we will definitely visit again. Our 12 year old didn't want to leave!

Hard to fault but perhaps parking cars in the nearby streets might be problematic in some cases? That said this was no problem for us and we were able to easily find safe and near parking on each of our 3 night stay
The hosts Iain and Anna were very welcoming and nothing to help was too much trouble. The bedroom was very clean when we arrived and the breakfast room was very clean, we never requested room service. Only a continental type breakfast was available but this proved more than sufficient for our needs.

Nothing - it was a brilliant stay.
We were very impressed - the room was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail with all of the antiques and curiosities was wonderful. Hosts were as friendly as you could ever expect. Continental breakfast was very nice with homemade jams.

There was nothing I can think of that I disliked.
Everything. It was a party for the eye’s. It was Victorian designing but with a modern plushness. It was huge in size I could have had a party of 20 people in my room and not felt crowded.

Clean comfortable close to Lincoln. Excellent choice of continental breakfast very nice hosts good price couldn't fault it will definitely stay here again if in the area

Excellent value for the money. The Victorian Bedroom was a delight; just like going back to the era, large and roomy with a bay window, spotlessly clean. Large day room for guests. Extensive breakfast menu in the continental style included in the price with wheat biscuits et al, yoghurt, freshly prepared fruit and a selection of cheeses and meats. coffee and toast. The nicest, helpful and kind owners I have met in a long while.

It was superb value for money.
Nice breakfast leaning to continental style but refreshing with fruits meat and cheese available. Good cereal choice. All nice and clean.

Everything was lovely - no complaints!
The hosts were so kind and welcoming and friendly; it felt like staying with family, in beautiful, heartwarmingly decorated house rather than at a faceless hotel. I will make an excuse to visit Lincoln again, just to stay with these lovely people. Thank you, Ian & Anna (PS: THE COOKIES!!!!!)

Beautiful room with lots of charm and character. Inclusion of bath robe was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was lovely and prepared by Ian and Anna while you wait. The homemade oat cookies are superb. But by far the best assets are the hosts themselves. I know it's a cliche but I really was made to feel at home they are so friendly and welcoming

It was exactly as described and therefore nothing to dislike.
Incredibly warm welcome, guest house was well located on the outskirts 10-15 minutes walk into town. Parking on a nearby side road. Hosts were cheerful, helpful and eager to make sure the stay was as care free and comfortable as possible. Bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in for a long time. Breakfast was lovely with home made jams and a super selection of fruit, cereals, toast and a cold meat and cheese platter.
