Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe place is a building site which was annoying but to be honest I wasn't really there until late at night. Room was tiny and no where to hang or put clothes. However I would stay again but not in my room.
The location is fantastic 5 mins to tube 7 mins to science museum v and a and Albert hall. Plenty of places to eat. For what I paid can't really moan. Bed was single but very comfortable. If you want a cheap hotel in a fantastic location and plan I just being there for a good night's sleep it's perfect. I could list all the negatives but the hotel is going through a refurb which I already knew about so can't complain really.

United KingdomHotel is currently under renovation. Run down facilities and rooms were very basic. Furniture in the room was chipped in several areas and walls were covered with marks (dirt and scratches) Several electrical appliances were broken and plug sockets were faulty. Paid £44 for one night which somewhat fair but images are not a true representation of the rooms. Wouldn't not recommend or stay again.
Good location.

United KingdomUnfortunately our room was very worn down, all furniture is in need of replacing or refurbishing. The bathroom had a horrible drainage smell that made the room constantly smell of sewage. The bathroom was covered in mould around the glass shower curtain and on the ceiling. There was no toilet roll in the bathroom on arrival. Walking into the hotel it’s almost like walking through a building site, I could normally look past that if the room is in good condition.
Location is great and close to the underground. Staff are friendly.

CyprusThe quilt on the bed wasn't big enough for the size of the bed, meaning that we kept pulling it off each other. The shower was so caked in limescale that it barely worked, but at the same time, the shower screen forced the water onto the bathroom floor, forcing us to use the few towels that we had to soak it up. There was only one towel provided, forcing us to have to go to reception to get more. We had a basement room, with no view at all.
Good location, very reasonable price for central London

United KingdomThe hotel is undergoing renovation which is quite apparent with all the building materials around, the lift only goes to the 4th floor so if you get allocated a room on the 5th floor you have to go up some steep stairs not ideal with a suitcase. We had 2 rooms one was a double which was ok but the single was like a box room very small
I didn't know what to expect after reading some of the reviews about this place But for what I paid it was ok for one night

United KingdomThe smell in the bathroom 110 was disgusting, stomach churning. Don't know if it was the drain or what it was but as soon as you opened door it hit you. The bed was close to the bathroom door you had to cover your mouth & nose when it was opened. Towel & toilet roll holders were tarnished and rusty looking as we're the door handles on bathroom cabinet. Bedroom window wouldn't close so was left open during all stay and the drawer in wardrobe unit wouldn't stay closed so has probably been an issue in past as tape marks still on drawer front. This could have caused injury when walking past if not propped shut with our suitcase. Bedside light wouldn't work and shade was taped together on inside of fixture
Close to tube station Bed was comfy Close to shops

United KingdomIf I had seen the reviews before I booked I wouldn’t have done. The bedding was cleaner than expected although the room and the bed were both shorter than me. It’s grubby rather than actively dirty. There was a functioning lock on the door and I didn’t see the rat mentioned in another review.
It is in a good location and inexpensive

United Kingdom1st room I was checked into wasn't ready, so I was moved to a different room. For a single occupancy room, if you are taller than 5' 6" you are going to struggle fitting into the bed and shower taps didn't work properly so water was scalding and couldn't be adjusted.
The hotel was very near the venue I was attending over the weekend and had plenty of supermarkets, cafes and restaurants for food. And staff were very polite and helpful.
