How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The Air con! Was too loud for my liking , my son has Autism so it disrupted his sleep alot unfortunately and mine but it couldn't be helped We tried switching it off but it kept turning back on. Gave up in the end.
Everything was lovely from start to finish, Lily who booked us in was super helpfull. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was super brilliant and easy to navigate.

Walls in bedroom bare. Not much character.
Breakfast was excellent. Paul and the restaurant team went that extra mile to ensure we could enjoy a lovely 3 course meal before our show. Thanks. Comfortable bed.

Nice breakfast selection in the morning. Room was convinient. Driven by a lot of construction work around hotel was not easy to be reached due to traffic jam, elevator rework seems to be as well ongoing for a while,

£24 for overnight parking was extortionate for Birmingham. Hotel declined to offer early check in despite offering to pay extra if they were able to accommodate.

The breakfast was not value for money. We were seated in the main thoroughfare for people to leave & attend the buffet. It was not a pleasant experience having people swarm round me while trying to eat. The food was ok but not worth £14 a head.

The restaurant had very little atmosphere and was empty. The food took a while to arrive, but again it was good quality food. The room we stayed in was a bit dated and didn't match with the modern decor around the hotel. The rooms could do with a bit of work, but they were clean and comfy.
The breakfast was really good quality, and there was plenty of choice available. The bar area was busy in the evenings and had a good atmosphere.

Pillows were too hard to sleep on. Room sink did not drain quick enough l.

Would've been nice to have more of a choice of room. The tea making facilities were poor. Not enough drinks in the room (2 tea bags, 1 hot chocolate and 1 coffee sachet) for 2 adults.
The room was good. The view was lovely. The food in the morning was amazing. Staff were helpful and completely available to help if you needed it. Good soundproofing.

Parking price and location, there was no toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers in room. The smell was not pleasant in room and corridors.

Room dated - doors missing from wardrobe - no fridge - just a fridge shaped hole in the damaged unit under TV - radiator thermostat control VERY difficult to operate - needs updating/replacing - Radiator in bathroom not working at all

No swimming pool and old carpets. No minibar and couldnt locate the switch for the exhaust fan in bathroom.

Shower broken so unable to move shower head to above head height and swivels towards the wall so have to hold it whole time in shower. Toilet flush also v difficult to press

At the check in was a big guy named RIICHARD extremely rode numerous times , as it was our first time stay we enquired about the car park and he was answering with anger and rudeness, though maybe he just was not in the mood but while i was downstairs waiting for my husband to park the car I witnessed how he talk to the customers, in the 20 min I was waiting he was rude and shouting at few people, wrong job for this guy Richard no customer service at all 0 rate for him
