Nice room, comfortable with good bathroom , convenient for York, in quiet and rural location. Shared kitchen and lounge and also garden to very high and tasteful standard, with everything you needed to make your own meals and relax.

Distance from farm to bus stop ,but were great and even dropped us off at bus stop

All the staff were brilliant, all the facilities were perfect and rooms were spot on ,easy check in, lovely lounge with large t.v.

Room was a bit small. Bathroom was good. The fridge and kettle were plugged into sockets in the wardrobe? No welcome, since COVID this seems to be normal in some properties. Was the owner on the premises at all? We stayed in Guy Fawkes room. No breakfast available. My husband chose this property, apart from price we were disappointed .

Being unable to contact staff personally Being asked to strip beds and remove towels on check out. Surely that's what housekeeping is for?

The location was beautiful, spotless and very peaceful. Loved sitting in the garden in the evening.

Nothing. We had a twin room with an extra bed in it. I believe the double rooms have a seating area which would have been nice in our room. But it didn't spoil our stay as we had the place to ourselves.

Quiet, very pretty location just off A19. Clean and comfortable. Enough pubs and eateries to ensure no cooking for a few days. Nice chippy, Strawberry Fields biker cafe and White Swan pub within a couple of minutes drive. Good cooking facilities in the kitchen if you wish to cook. Large lounge with TV and large dining room. Would be excellent for a large family get together

Although our actual experience in the two rooms of "The Minster" (with three double beds) was very positive, some information had got lost in the email communications, which would have been important for us to be able to find and gain entry to "The Castle" when we arrived (we only made full sense of it all the next morning). Please consider putting up a sign or two and also replacing the almost illegible name on the door. Also, the delayed reaction of the television to the remote control in "The Minster" was very considerable. Moreover, there was a fair amount of mould on the ceiling in the bathroom.

The door to the room didn't go all the way to the floor so the landing light and noise was more noticeable/disturbed me, the fridge also didn't work. It was my first time staying in a place (which is not a hostel) where I had to strip the bed and empty my own bins (even tho there is a cleaner) I found this odd but not a put off.

The bedroom was gorgeous and had a waterfall shower in the bathroom which was also a wet room. Use of the entire house was permitted (kitchen, living room and dining room) plus other common areas. Decorated to a high standard, very modern, as was the security system. The Lodge is very close to York (about 15 mins) and in a lovely quiet area. There is ample parking on site.

We never saw the staff and getting in by remote control was a nightmare and we had not realised it would be necessary. The instructions for access arrived 2 days after we left. We did phone, got an answer phone, several minutes later got a return phone call and a code number and were told the second code number would arrive by e-mail but it didn't so we had to phone again. All a bit off-putting. We couldn't get the WiFi to work well once we did get in though it was OK in the restaurant down the road. Better system needed. We had pleasant fellow guests but the shared kitchen might be a bit of a lottery.

No breakfast. There was a tea making facility in the room (though we didn't actually find the kettle till we were leaving). The kitchen was well equipped, the location tranquil, not in York but not too far from it which was good, the room smallish but pleasant and the bath, with lots of hot water, VERY nice. Not far to a good Malaysian restaurant (nearest pub was full).

I have lost count of numbers of stayed there and I love it there because is so peaceful and switch off from work and lovely to see the hares, ducks and saw fox which is beautiful. Would book again in the future.

Pot holes in drive.

Ideal location for Park and Ride into York. Staff very friendly, extremely helpful and will book again. Wasn't sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised by facilities available or could have used.

Lack of perimeter fencing to keep dogs enclosed and safe.

Spaciousness. Big, fitted, equipped kitchen. Hot tub for future use. Beautifully set up. My dog was welcome. Self contained room.

What a lovely little gem of a place, loved the location especially as it was in the middle of a field! So quiet, super comfy beds and pillows, had the best sleep. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Met the two wonderful hosts in the morning for a little chat and some advice for the rest of our visit. Look forward to a return visit, and thank you!
