How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No wardrobe space and couldn't open windows. Also no tea/coffee making facilities
The night staff were lovely and friendly. Clean and bed was comfortable. Great location few minutes walk in to Central Cardiff.

The hot drink machine was out of order, which was disappointing. Heard other guests through the walls.
Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Excellent value for the money. Nice bathroom with good hot shower.

No tea/coffee facilities in the room. We were on the 7th floor so having the only facilities to tea/coffee on the ground floor meant we didn't bother
Easy, simple and just what we needed. The service was quick and easy, the room was clean and compact. Everything you need for a night away.

It was the smallest twin room I have ever stayed in. No place to store anything - not even a desk!

10 am check out time is too early. Would have been good to have a kettle in the room and a chair or somewhere to rest my travel bag.
Exceptionally clean, the bathroom was immaculate. Staff very friendly.

Parking arrangements for a couple with limited mobility. £21 charge by nearby Mercure Hotel for overnight parking. Would have struggled to walk from the Mercure Hotel to the easyHotel without the help of strangers.
Clean. Comfortable beds. Adequate for an overnight stay. Television ok.No chair.

There’s no bedside tables, no hangers, no shelves, no stools, absolutely nothing, literally only a bed in the room. You have to place your things on the floor! It’s surreal.

While the bed was comfortable, there is minimal free space in the room, and it was difficult to reach the window as width of walk-space, between the bottom edge of the bed and the room wall, is just 12 inches. This lack of space makes dressing and packing tricky, and it would be awkward to have more than one occupant in such a room, for any duration. There is no closet, or even a shelf where one might place folded clothing. Likewise, the bathroom shower-cubicle has NO ledge to place soaps or hair- care bottles ( one has to come out of shower to place these by the sink, or else risk leaving items on the slippery shower- tray) (This is a proper nuisance, esp if one has longer hair and requires specialty potions, rather than the shampoo/gel from the shower dispenser). Clearly, the intricacies of bathing was not thought- through by the person who fit-out these guest bathrooms! There is no place to sit ( no chair or stool) in the room ( many travellers don't like to sit on a hotel bed in their day clothes), making it less easy to relax. This room type is suitable for a short stay with minimal luggage, only. Windows don't open, so there is a hemmed-in/claustrophobic feel to these corner rooms.
Easy Hotel Cardiff is a 10-15 minute walk to Cardiff's shopping area, cafés + restaurants, and a mile or so from the main train station ( 20-30 minute walk). Rooms offered are clean, with good quality cotton linen and very comfortable beds, though space is tight with barely room to walk around the bed. There is a well- appointed bathroom with shower, though NO place to hang clothes or any shelf to place folded items. There is sir conditioning ( windows don't open) .

The room was very small. It would be great if a table and chair was added to the rooms as it is difficult to be on the bed all day. If you want to do work or even eat, it has to be done on the bed as there is nowhere else to do it.
The location was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a great stay. The room was also very clean. Good for the price.

Room is TINY, wouldn't recommend if you were using the room as a base. There was no toilet brush in toilet.

air conditioning didn't work correctly first night reported to reception staff the following morning who were helpful, asked service colleagues to review while I was out and fixed it - thank you
