Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The Garden Room is the perfect holiday retreat for a couple seeking a small but compact, beautifully clean and pleasantly appointed self-catering apartment in a beautiful, peaceful valley away from the madding crowd. Downstairs consists of a small, comfortable lounge, well-equipped kitchenette with fold-away table and a combined shower-room/toilet. Upstairs, reached by steep, narrow stairs, is the bedroom with its extra-large, very comfortable double-bed and a rail for hanging clothes. Outside in the dog-friendly, fenced/walled garden is a secluded terrace with seating. There are TVs on both floors with access to a huge range of programmes and the kitchenette has a small micro-wave, air fryer, cooking plate, fridge and washing machine. A bottle of Australian red wine and supply of milk kindly awaited our arrival. Trebah Garden, the Helford Estuary and Seal Recovery Centre at Gweek are all relatively nearby as are basic shopping facilities at Mawnan Smith and two good pubs serving meals. Falmouth itself with its much larger range of super-markets, restaurants, activities and entertainments is also only a little further away. The Garden Room is a place that grows on one the longer you are there to discover its secrets and we definitely intend to return soon.

United KingdomThe downstairs living space was compact however the hosts have made good use of the space available. The wash basin in the bathroom is quite small and contained within the shower cubicle but we accept this was necessary due to the limited space.
We liked the peaceful location and the close proximity to Falmouth. The decoration and fittings were modern and stylish and they made good use of the space. The bedroom was large and spacious as was the comfortable bed. The secluded premises had coded access via the driveway gate with adequate parking. The small kitchen was well equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Gardens were attractive and a private outdoor seating area was provided. We appreciated the provision of a bottle of wine, milk and water in the fridge and coffee, tea and biscuits. Would definitely stay again

United KingdomThe single track road to the property and beyond was a nightmare and it made going for a walk with our dog a bit risky at times due to other traffic on the road. We did have an issue with the stairs leading to the bedroom ss they were a bit steep.
Location and accommodation we're great. The property was very clean and the facilities were excellent. The bottle of wine and biscuits were very much appreciated too.

United KingdomThe living area was tiny, my 6ft tall husband kept hitting his head on the roof and the stairs when descending. The facilities for cooking are very limited with a plug in electric stove top and no freezer or oven. The sofa was big enough for us just . The access road was very narrow, single track and very few passing places soo glad they’re wasn’ta lots of traffic.
The bed was super comfy and the upstairs was very spacious

United KingdomThe stairs to the bedroom were extremely steep. This was not mentioned in the advert. I found them difficult and unnerving especially during the night as the bathroom is downstairs. The shower floor would benefit from a non slip mat.
The bed was large and very comfortable. The enclosed garden was good with our dog.

Lovely apartment, excellent host and an adventurous drive to the location - due to the remote location. If you are from the City, be prepared for a narrow drive to the property. But it's well worth it. The best accommodation during our road trip. Thanks to the host for the complementary bottle of wine. Will be visiting again and recommend the apartment.

United KingdomThe lounge ceiling was low, but it didn't affect our stay, it was so beautiful
The Garden Room was beautiful, the host was welcoming & friendly, they provided tea, coffee, biscuits, milk & a bottle of Pinot, which was a lovely gesture, Our dogs loved the garden. The bed was huge & extremely comfortable. There were candles if you wanted fragrance, & soaps, shower gels available to use. The surroundings were beautiful & there were TV's in the lounge & bedroom. It was gated & secure.

This property is in the most perfect location in the middle of countryside and is a hidden gem. It is very well presented. Brian has worked very hard and this hard work has paid off. He is very friendly and welcoming. The little personal touches (bottle of wine etc) make it a welcoming stay. We only spent one night, but wish it had been more. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning.

United KingdomThe only thing is the location Pin takes you past the property and it is quite difficult to turn around on the tight Country lanes so make sure to pay attention to the property name on the entrance gate don't follow the sat nav past it.
A truly stunning property perfectly located in the cornish countryside, the pictures not do this place justice the cottage and surroundings are beautiful. The hosts couldn't be any nicer, they met us on arrival and showed us around, gave us ideas where to go for dinner and really made us feel at home. The property has recently been decorated to a high standard very clean, the Queen size bed is honestly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, makes it a real struggle to get out of bed, best night's sleep in a long time. The hosts have gone the extra mile making sure to leave us with the essentials like milk, wine and cookies which was a lovely touch. We were honoured to be the first guests at this property and wish we could have stayed longer to really take in the tranquil surrounding. We will definitely be back.
