Had to move tables and bedside tables to turn the lamps off. (If there was a switch on the lamp, i couldn't find it)

Rooms were very clean and the staff were friendly. Bed was comfortable and the room was a really good size.

All was good Our only recommendation is that we would of liked a little light/lamp in the corner so we could see a bit better when making a cuppa- and we would recommend a bigger cup to have the cuppa in. Facilities were amazing though with everything you need

What a fabulous place to stay, the pub is buzzing all day long even on a cold day in January which was when we stayed. Loved the quirky gothic style room we stayed in. Staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem We will most definitely be back!

That we were unable to stay longer. It was like leaving a fairytale to go back to reality.

Everything. Super friendly staff. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Comfy beds. Great bathroom. Brilliant facilities, over and above. Iron, ironing board, coffees, cookies, hairdryer, heaters, fans...you name it. Additional company in our room too who were also incredibly chatty and convivial, even though we couldn't see them 😉

I think a little sprucing up in the bars would make a real difference, it’s a bit grubby (sorry)

The place is so old, it’s lovely to stay in because of the history of the building. The staff were really lovely! The Minster suite was beautiful

With being a very busy pub with live music every night it can be a bit noisy until quite late but that's to be expected, if you book a pub stay and complain about something like that you're just silly.

A beautiful, historic place to stay. The bed was very comfy and the rooms were lovely and warm and beautifully decorated. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was great. The location is ideal for pretty much everything in York.

Nothing really,can be a little noisy but is above a pub.

Great old building,in a good location in the heart of york, car park around the corner, and the bar is open late so you can enjoy your day out and have a little drink before bed.

It was a quirky/unique fantastic location room that was spotless. Staff were very friendly and able to get in and out anytime of the day and night as they gave you key food, and breakfast was very pleasant to would definitely stay again

It’s so unique and amazing … the pub its self is so busy because it’s so different. I took my friend for a nights stay for her 50th birthday…. Should have stayed 2 days…. We had McDonalds in bed at 1am … how cool is that …. The food was amazing at the pub recomend a lunch meal …. The pub history is amazing… love it

Nothing not to dislike. As it is a very old and historic hotel, you stay here for the ambience.

The Golden Fleece has the best location for the Christmas market and Shambles. A 5 min walk to York Minister and 15-20 min walk to the train station. Stonebow and Monk’s Cross bus stops are a 4 min stroll near the pub. The food is great and pub is always busy with people waiting to see a ghost or two. The staff are friendly and hospitable. The bathroom is very spacious in the deluxe room with the separate bedroom even bigger. A great place to stay in the summer to take in all that York has to offer.

The staining on the wall from a previous leak above our beds. The front door being difficult to open . No staff on the premises during the night .

Bedroom could have done with redecoration as plaster coming of walls,having said that extremely old building and maybe it's an on going problem, unfortunately fire alarm went off and we were stood outside for about 25 mins but this wasn't hotel staff fault and they were great
