Bed was too hard and were not happy with the pillows. Limited menu was very disappointing and the restaurant is only open at weekends. Family members having visited in the past felt the hotel standards had slipped. On previous visits the restaurant meal was a very good standard with attentive staff.

Good location for meeting family. Breakfast was acceptable, but no indication at the table re alternatives or extras.

Was slightly dated needs a bit of a lick of paint! Didn’t like having to pay extra to use pool. Appreciate extra for any hair/Beauty services but pool should be included. Breakfast far too expensive

Location was good easy to get into town! Room was comfortable as was bed. Was clean

Breakfast was a little poor. Food cold and had run out of a lot of items and were left waiting. Mostly staff were great but one lady in the dining room was quite rude when we asked for eggs.

Didn't agree with paying for the facilities eg pool etc, never heard of anything so ridiculous, I booked it knowing there was a pool, I would have cancelled it, if I had known we had to pay I wouldn't have gone, thought it was disgusting. The view from the room was roof tops, very depressing I had asked for a nice room for our anniversary, so was Dissappointed. Room very tired.

The location was good The staff were friendly Most of the room was fine

It was disappointing that the dining room was not open for dinner, and we had to use the bar instead. The menu was the same every night and was rather limited. One of lamps in suite didn't work, & bedside lamps were difficult to work due to need to use 3 switches to put each one on.

Room was good size with appropriate facilities, well furnished & clean. breakfast was well organised & had an excellent choice. Staff at breakfast were especially helpful.

The room, we booked a suite which was very dated and run down. Bed was super uncomfortable, very hard which resulted in very little sleep. The bedroom was complete with a dressing table but we were unable to use it for hair/makeup purposes as no mirror or plug sockets provided next to the table. Had to pay extra to use the leisure facilities which I feel should be included in the price especially for a suite.

Leisure facilities where the best part of the hotel (although you had pay extra to access) Staff were friendly and helpful. Entrance / bar area well maintained.

The duvet on the bed needs to be a summer duvet. It was too hot so bad night’s sleep. Felt I was in the dungeon with a basement room and no lift access to get there just stairs and long, long corridors.

I have stayed here twice before so know the hotel standard is good. Staff are friendly and helpful

The breakfast was poor. Not much choice and poor quality. Cold, dry bacon, lukewarm fried egg that had sat there for a while and stale bread (I tried to make myself a bacon and egg sandwich but the bread was only for for toasting. The room decor and bathroom were rather outdated but that didn’t bother me since the bed was comfy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I was pleased to be upgraded to the main building without requesting it. I loved the spa and pool, it made for a very pleasant stay and made the experience more luxurious.

Attitude of the bar staff was extremely poor - I ordered a pint and a meal, and then was informed that I could not charge it to my room (even though I had my key and card with me) and the pint was literally taken out of my hand! I ended up having my meals and drinks over the road at The Falcons Nest, meaning that the hotel lost out on quite a bit of money!

Check in was efficient and friendly. Room was a reasonable size, comfortable, and had a nice power shower.

A little noisy certain nights (e g. Saturday) when functions taking place or bar open late and smokers stand outside entrance talking loudly and within earshot of the rooms at that end of the building. But not a major issue.

Excellent location for getting around the North East by car. Friendly staff. Big car park. Good size rooms available. Very good value. Breakfast available and also good value.

Rooms are tired and in need of updating. Sheets were lovely and clean but not a very comfortable mattress and the runner on the bed was stained. Windows in need of replacing as could hear voices from outside quite late into the night. Very slow service due to lack of staff at both the bar and the reception. Confusing signage regarding car parking. Massive sign to scan the QR code for parking but no indication that for residents this does not apply as you register car details via a touch screen.

Great location and large car park
