How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

We can't think of anything bad to say about this hotel.
Good choices for breakfast; cereals, fruit, pastries and hot food from the breakfast menu. Staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location for the city centre. Just a 10 minute bus ride away from the bus stop outside. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times now and it will always be our first choice when visiting Newcastle.

Be aware that 9 o clock the kitchen in the pub downstairs closes, and there no options for food nearby on foot . You need to take the bus and head to the center to find some food after 9 o clock.
Very nice hotel, the room was wonderful , beds were comfortable , in a quite location. The staff was very kind and we had everything we needed. There is a bar downstairs where you can relax and have a beer , however in the room above there was no noise at all. The bus to the center is right outside, and it is some stops away . Overall a great stay! Definately i recommend.

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff. Comfortable clean room with very good facilities. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was very good, especially the eggs Benedict.

Staff friendly and very helpful. Great atmosphere 👌. Free parking a big bonus. We were a hour early on our arrival but our room was ready for us. Great touch with reception ringing around 20mins later to check everything with our room was fine 🙂 👍

Not actually a criticism, but the hotel is located on the side of a divided road, and can be tricky for a driver to make the turn. Again, this really isn't an issue, nor is it under the control of the hotel.
The facility is new, and all the amenities function well. The shower was a joy after a long day driving. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous building inside and out. Bed so comfy. Room spotless, shower amazing struggled to get out. Can't wait to book this place next time we're in Newcastle.

Windows couldn't be opened.
We were warmly welcomed, shown tp our spacious clean and comfortable rooms and given helpful advice on getting to our concert venue. Breakfast was lovely, witn food cooked to order. I love a rainfall shower, especially with Arran toiletries. And Ringtons tea and biscuits.

The lighting in the room could have been better.
The location is perfect, the breakfast also great, although the last 2 days were not as good as the first 4 - no idea what happened there. The bathroom is amazing and the bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Nothing to dislike.
This is the second time we've stayed here for a fun weekend. The hotel is ideally situated away from the noise of the city centre; but with frequent buses stopping at the bus stop outside the hotel, we're into the middle of all the action within minutes. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfasts; lots to choose from! Bed is comfy. Great toiletries. Plenty of free parking on site. Downstairs is a bar, which is great for those of us who enjoy a few drinks before our night out. The bar closes at Midnight at the weekend, so our beauty sleep is not disturbed. We hope to return!
