Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff member on reception at checking in, and out was unfriendly and looked miserable. At the spa area there was some maintenance work going on for the duration of time I spent there, and several men working on it. There was no sign to say this was happening and no apologies from the workmen, also I don't think the job needed three men working on it. The coffee machine in the room was not working, and the shower was luke warm. Lastly, I was extremely disappointed and concerned that I had been charged three times. I checked my credit card statement and there were three transactions, one for the day I checked in and two on the day I checked out. I didn't understand why this needed to happen. The staff member on check in explained that an additional 15 per cent would be added and then reimbursed. I had no additional expenditure during my stay, so surely the bill should have been the original cost of my room with the 15 per cent reimbursed. However, I was charged the original cost of my booking, plus an additional 15 per cent twice! I find this to be unacceptable. This is very bad practice and should be reviewed, this had never happened to me with any other hotel I have stayed at. This ruined the stay for me and did not create a good impression of the hotel
The room was excellent and the breakfast very good, staff member checking in for breakfast was friendly and professional The spa area was a little overcrowded but ok

United KingdomNot much! Service could be a bit slow in the main restaurant, but not a big issue.
Beautifully decorated room, well equipped and with a huge 7’ bed. Lovely view over the Japanese garden and aircon to keep it cool. Also very quiet. Lovely pool, decent gym and plenty of parking.

United KingdomWhen we arrived we were told we had been given an upgrade. We were pleased but found the cold water didn’t flow out of the taps. This was a real shame as the room was lovely and bright with plenty of space and comfy sofas to relax and watch tv. The staff sorted this problem extremely quickly and we were given another (upgraded) room. This room was pleasant but dark. There was no sofa just uncomfortable chairs. The television was on the wall, right next to the door. It was an awkward spot to have a tv. It would have been better to have it where the large mirror was, in the centre of the room. The room had a lovely ensuite but the kettle didn’t fit under the basin tap. To get cold water to fill kettle or dog bowl you had to sit on the side of the bath and lean across to the far wall to turn tap on, then get the kettle under the tap. There was no phone in the room so we were not able to make a restaurant booking or contact reception without walking the length of the hotel and down the stairs to get there. Having no phone in the room, in an emergency, could have been a problem. We asked to use a lift on our checkout day. A member of staff showed us to a lift, but it was a service lift. We ended up far from reception and had to be shown a way back through the hotel by another member of staff. For such a large hotel it should have a proper lifts to use, especially as there are many small flights of stairs. It may have been an upgraded room but we preferred the first room for comfort. These all seems rather minor, but they were niggles that impacted our stay in this 4 star hotel.
Location was excellent, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were brilliant with our dog, Duke. He received a wonderful welcome pack with a ball, biscuits and doggy poo bags. There were also bowls for him to use and a bed for him too. The rooms were large and well equipped. The hotel was welcoming, clean and airy. It had a spa that we wished we could have used.
