My stay was exceptional, Linda and Jonathan were very nice and were always accommodating, the breakfast was amazing and tailored to my preferences, the location is great, in a calm town just 5 minutes by train from York, I cannot recommend it enough.

Linda and Johnathan coudnt have been more helpful and attentive. The acomodation was beautiful, comfortable. Lots of little extras to just make our stay lovley. Everything was spotless. The breakfast was fantastic. Again Linda and Johnathan bent over backwards to meet our need. Linda even offered me a lair of shoes (I had forgotten mine) for the wedding we were attending. I loved how quiet it was at night, I easily slept with the window open. All the facilities we needed and wanted, and those not seen were offered. Beautiful gardens.

Everything was great, from the homemade cake and biscuits to the sausage and black pudding. A very nice property with a lovely garden.Located in a nice village with a couple of pubs within a 5 min walk and a 5 min amble to the train station. Linda and Jonathon made us feel welcome on arrival, nothing was a bother to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing place to stay with great links to York, Harrogate and Leeds.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, even our travel stresses were taken care of 🤗

Great location, easy regular access to transport into the city of York and surrounding villages. Linda, Jonathan and Penny the wee dog made us feel like friends, their hospitality and attention to detail was excellent. We had a great choice and variety of freshly cooked breakfasts for vegetarians too, including home baked bread, croissants and sausages. Nothing was to much trouble, whether we wanted plant based milks, freshly brewed coffee or just a bowl of fresh fruit and yoghurt ❤️ The rooms were spacious, quite and spotlessly clean with a really comfortable king-size bed where we both slept better than we'd done for a long time. The room had tea making facilities with fresh milk each day and plenty of hot water for showers each day. There is the option to sit in their a beautiful garden, or take a walk to some great little pubs, which we thoroughly took advantage of. We hired a car, which was really problematic but both Linda and Johnathan were so helpful in suggesting alternatives, and even drove me to collect the vehicle the next day. Our stay was so good we didn't want to leave and have made a preliminary booking for when we return in a few months. Thank you so much for making our first stay such a memorable one, we look forward to seeing you both again real soon.

Excellent accommodation, with clean, warm, comfortable rooms. Fantastic breakfast, with lots of choice, including home-made sausages! Very welcoming and considerate hosts, who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have as comfortable and enjoyable a stay as possible. Highly recommended.

A lovely b+b we were made very welcome the breakfast was to die for home made sausages very comfy beds we had little extras in our room homemade shortbread complimentary drinks in the fridge fresh milk for our Yorkshire tea ,toiletries in the bathroom couldn’t wish for anything more for our weekend away

Not so much we didn't like, but the bed was a little firm for us. Our choice! Everyone is different. It didn't spoil our 3 night stay 😃

Before we even arrived I had a message from Linda & Jonathan letting us know that they would greet us to show us where to park. We were greeted with smiles & offered us tea & homemade chocolate cake, which was delicious! Our room was amazing with an ensuite shower room, a separate wardrobe/dressing room....plenty of storage. Tea coffee making, homemade shortbread. A stocked fridge with wine water & beer....a nice touch. Well, breakfasts .... Homemade croissants, & so much choice. All delicious & a great start to the day. Thank you so much both of you....it made our visit to York wonderful.

We didn't stay long enough

Linda and Johnathan were the perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble..their home is immaculately clean..Comfy beds..fridge in the room with complimentary wine beer water and milk..Chocolate cake and coffee on arrival..The breakfast was fantastic home made sausages and bread all the preserves were home made the quality of the whole breakfast and choice was second to none..Grove House is better than most hotels we have ever stayed in..

Can't think of a single thing.

Amazing, welcoming, friendly, attentive hosts who can't do enough for you. Spotlessly clean rooms with lots of thoughtful little touches, very comfortable beds & a beautiful garden to sit in. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice, good quality ingredients and Jonathan's homemade sausages and Linda's homemade bread and preserves.

The location was perfect - a quick walk and 6 minute train ride to York and easy getaway to the Yorkshire Dales. Jonathan and Linda made everything easy, advised on our travels and provided passes to the minster which we would not have otherwise seen. Linda made provisions for a gluten free breakfast - key! It was a lovely stay.

Everything was so good that it's difficult to say if I did not like anything, however, for the sake of describing it I would say that since rooms are on the first floor, you may not like the effort needed to lug your luggage. My room was a bit small compared to other rooms there so yes it was a bit cramped up with two suitcases, but not to the point of complaint at all.

Everything from the surroundings to the hospitality and comfort not to mention the out of the way conveniences and help offered by the hosts. The property has a very good ambience and a garden which gave comforts of staying at home. The owners of the property Linda and Jonathan were extremely friendly and made us feel at home the moment we checked in to the property. It's about 15- 20-minute drive from the railway station. The room was spotless with great decor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast was delicious and provided with personalized attention by Linda and Jonathan. My wife needed medical help and fetching prescription/medicine from a nearby locality difficult to walk up to. The hosts promptly offered us their help and insisted on taking us in their car. They also rendered valuable guidance on the city including printed details with handwritten explanations which made our life much simpler. Not to mention the super friendly dog Ms Penny. The locality has both train and bus connections from York city stops for which are at walking distance from the property. Overalll, we had a wonderful stay in this lovely property.
