There were a lot of stairs, very tiring. You have to bring your own towel, it’s £2 for a towel. This is however standard hostel practice, I just wasn’t aware.

The rooms were clean & modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were private & clean. The beds were comfy, I slept well.

The location was fantastic, about a max 5min walk from the train station! The beds had a good amount of privacy and the lockers were generous in size, large enough to store my 70L bag. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for early check-ins and bag storage after check out.

The hostel was really well kept with friendly staff. The bathrooms were very clean. The hostel is situated less than 5 minutes from the station, which made it very easy to find the place around. I was in a girls dorm, and it was very peaceful and everyone respected each other's space.

Horrible lockers - none of the lockers worked in my room. It was impossible to make them properly lock, they are very outdated. So I had to keep my valuables with me at all times (but the hostel is very safe so it did not feel uncomfortable).

I loved how quiet the hostel was, it had a very calm and friendly vibe. Perfect to unwind after a long day in town. Well equipped guest kitchen and surprisingly clean showers and toilets.

The staff is very unfriendly and grumpy. It's amazing that with this kind of attitude, she prefers to manage a hostel. I didn't even get the code for the door and even tho I rang the bell a couple of times, they were just in front of the door and didn't allow me to come in or at least check the door. They don't provide the information in the hostel profile that some bunks have 3 levels and the hostel is on the top floor with lots of stairs and no elevators too.

The location was awesome, all the most important and beautiful places are easily reachable on foot :) And the stuff was amazingly nice, they help me truly with finding myself in the city - and left the key for me even though I arrived after midnight.

As a woman solo traveller, I would definitely recommend this hostel. I felt safe, the hostel itself is very cozy and clean, also perfectly located near to the main attractions of the city. Staff was absolutely amazing and welcoming! Even if I was in a 12-bed dorm, privacy is guaranteed. Had the chance to meet a lot of other solo travellers!

Curtains over the main windows in the room would help to block out light.

Really well situated hostel so close to the train station and bus stops, very safe and secure but also clean and sociable. The 12 bed dorm can get a bit noisy especially with lockers and creaky floor boards but the beds are super comfy and the way there are arranged gives privacy and personal space.

The bed was uncomfortable for me and the distance between the beds in the 12-bed shared room was too small. As a result, I couldn't sit properly on the bed. Moreover, some of the girls were snoring and talking on the phone late at night which was quite disappointing.

I appreciate the location of the hostel. I find it to be very convenient as everything is easily accessible within a short distance. The hostel is situated in a great spot that allows me to explore the city with ease. I love the fact that I can easily access different modes of transportation, like buses and trains, from here. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops, and other attractions nearby that I enjoy visiting. Overall, I think the location is one of the best features of this hostel.

The loveliet staff, who always seemed invested in ensuring I had a good stay - and a good time in Edinburgh overall! Clean, comfortable facilities where I felt safe as a solo woman. Really nice shared kitchen, good showers that stayed hot the entire time. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend the place to a friend! The only thing I would note is that the hostel is up a very long staircase. I managed it with a hefty suitcase, but it was a bit knackering! In addition, the lockers require a specific kind of lock - the one I brought was too thin and the hostel was kind enough to lend me one (though typically you have to purchase it). If you want to bring your own instead of purchasing, perhaps check with the hostel about the kind of lock they use.

Bunk bed was very uncomfortable, it felt I was laying on the floor. The room was very smelly too, I couldn’t sleep on the first night. The room I stayed was for 12 people in 4 bunk beds. Common areas was quite nice and clean. The building it self was not very clean.

If this wants to be an eco hostel then it needs double glazed windows. You could feel the wind through the cracks and with the radiators pumping out heat it’s quite wasteful of energy! It would be nice to have at least one notice as you go up the stairs to tell you that you are in the right place! The toilet door could do with something to stop it banging as you go out. Sone noise of bottles being disposed of from the pub next door but I did expect that in town. Hooks for coats and towels in the dorm would be good. And a place in the shower to put your soap other than the floor!

It was above a pub so slightly noisy, but this wasn't terrible! It was on the forth floor so if you pack to much you'll struggle to carry up the stairs- but not an issue for me personally.

Can't ask for a better location directly opposite the train station, good sized private room with towel provided. Good kitchen facilities & bathroom and toilets kept clean daily. Wifi working and friendly check in staff

These are triple bunk beds so very low ceilings, you don't have to be claustrophobic
