We were firstly put in a very small dark room with a clear shower in the bedroom. Apparently the screen was broken and a new one on order. The manager sorted us out a fabulous large room for our second night.

The manager was amazing! Location is fantastic and more expensive rooms are stylish and large. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had.

In the night you hear a lot of sirens/ambulances driving by and because it is an old building and I think dubbel glass is not allowed, it is good to take this in account. It didn t bother me to much and there are ear pluggs available, but it is good to realise this when you come over.

The hotel, the staff, the room, the pub, we loved this place. They gave us a very warm welcome, showed us to our room en took the time to give us all the information we needed. The breakfast was great, there is a lot of choice and the scrambled eggs on toast are an absolute winner. It is very nice you can have dinner in the pub and everyone is very friendly and relaxed.

breakfast buffet could be fresher and more choice (proper size croissants etc) but menu breakfast with poached eggs etc was fantastic so I cannot say a bad thing but fussy eaters i was with had issues :-)

Rooms and facilities are wonderful, pub and restaurant very convenient, plus loads of places to eat around if staying longer than 1/2 nights, if one is looking for great location with all in one to be able to have lovely food and a pint and comfortable room in very English style, it is the place to stay.

Everything met my expectations, except the cabin room was not right for me. I have arthritis and am waiting for knee replacements. There are a lot of stairs up to the room and the mattress is on the floor so I found it difficult to get into and out of bed. It’s a lovely quirky, small room with a good sized shower room it has a coffee machine, fridge, iron and ironing board etc it is perfect for someone fitter or a younger couple. I still really enjoyed my break, it is a great place to stay!

Everything met my expectations, the food was excellent, especially the breakfast which was first class! The staff were wonderful and couldnt do enough for me. It is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, I would definitely stay there again 👍

Just a little niggle that it was hard to get the room to heat up and the bathroom was really cold. It was freezing outside. But that didn’t affect my overall pleasure at being there

I've stayed here twice and both times it has been excellent. The room was a great size, super clean and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and attentive and the breakfast is lovely. A really great venue all round and perfect for regular travel. I will be back!

The only fault was the double bed appeared to be two single mattresses together, which would have been fine if notified of this or if it was for one person. Because it was for 2 people it wasn't quite appropriate. But the bed itself was still comfortable and the bedding warm and high quality!

The room was lovely and cosy. A well equipped room with ensuite. The shower and water pressure were great! The decorations and interior of the room were beautifully done. The welcome and check in was great and easy with no complications or added surprises. The hotel seems to be a hidden gem with a lovely breakfast included. It's probably the best vegan breakfast I've had at a hotel. The location is ideal, very close to Herne Hill station, and lots of shops and cafes. The pub and restaurant itself are so cosy and nice to sit in. Highly recommend for a nice getaway and place to stay in London.

The only thing we didn’t like was the police sirens that went by frequently at night. But it wasn’t anything a pair of earplugs couldnt cure.

The building interior and exterior was super cute and charming. The room was spacious and cozy. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and extremely helpful.

The decor, welcome and bedroom was ideal for our stay. Close to the train, very quiet and beautifully presented. We just stayed for the night as we were meeting family for breakfast.

Noise, but acknowledge this is due to the area the hotel is located. Triple glazing needed maybe.
