We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

the dog friendly rooms and then also the great views whilst having breakfast or dinner your made to feel very welcome. being able to have dinner dog friendly is even better very accommodating.

United KingdomI feel we were satisfied with everything really. They were so obliging, helpful and very friendly with everyone.
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Holbeck Ghyll staying in such wonderful surroundings with wonderful accommodation. It was my wife’s special birthday celebration & on arrival at the hotel we were told that we had been upgraded to our own suite which was beyond our expectations. It enhanced our stay there and was a lovely sanctuary to return back to after a lovely tour around the Lakes. The staff were so friendly y and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble to the staff. The breakfasts were lovely too and so tasty and there was plenty of variety for you to choose from, well cooked and nicely served. Thank you Holbeck Ghyll for making our stay a very special one and we hope to see you again in the future.

Staff and owner were very attentive, referred to us by our names and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay even asking what drinks shall I have ready for you when you come down to the bar before dinner, awesome! Our room was really big with wonderful views and the furnishings throughout the hotel were lovely.

United KingdomOn the first evening we ate at the restaurant and had a nice meal. However I was rather disappointed that the hotel put an 11.5% gratuity charge for the service. As a hotel guest I don’t think that is appropriate. The cooked breakfast was unfortunately cold on both mornings too.

United KingdomCan't fault the staff who were incredibly helpful and friendly. It did feel like more staff were needed which of course wasn't their fault. Our lodge did feel in need of decorating and sprucing up but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of it.
Stunning views from the junior suite we booked which was a lodge above the main hotel. Nice to have a balcony to enjoy the scenery.

Location excellent, breakfast good, service could have been better, only one member of staff on duty would have been much better service if more staff available.
