Because of ongoing renovations it was necessary to exit the hotel and then re-enter into the dining area. This was not ideal when it was raining.

The staff, in particular at breakfast, were very engaging and helpful.

The door on the ensuite didn't close properly.

Joseph was very professional, attentive, and helpful, especially under the current circumstances they are having to deal with! The young lady (sorry didn't get her name) who had the unenviable task of seating guests for breakfast, was also professional yet apologetic for the complete chaos she had to deal with. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the showers were strong and hot... perfect! The hand wash, shower gel and shampoo was gorgeous...wish I could remember the company!

WiFi stability if you count on it for the business

Room is good enough as was using it for the night sleep. WiFi was not stable probably because of the reconstruction going on. Breakfast is marvellous. Location is very good as buss station next to the Hotel to go to the York city, racecourse park walk and 2 restaurants are around including not bad Hotel restaurant

The grassed outside areas were in dire need of attention - there are seating areas but you couldn't use them The bar & restaurant prices seemed a bit steep

Good breakfast choices & well organised considering the main restaurant was shut for a refurbishment at the time of our visit. The location is ideal - just out of the city but a short bus ride to ask the sights. Great position for the race course

Theee was work going on in the reception which we new about when booking but it was a bit confusing to find the check in desk. Breakfast was very busy and we had to queue for a seat .

It was on the bus route straight into the centre of York. We walked in as it was a sunny day. The breakfast was lovely and we had a good night's sleep.

The rooms are needing an upgrade plus a lot of building work going on which we didn't know about until hotel was booked as we received a message from Holiday inn. Booking.com should be aware of this.

Small bathroom/ door being problem getting in and out. Noise from neighbours in the next room playing loud music but didn't want to complain as this would have caused more problems.

Within 20 minutes walking distance of the city and on a bus route. Great for the racecourse just a short walk. The rooms were a good size. The food was good, every night I tried something different and the staff at the restaurant were really good morning and night.

Even though there was work getting done on the premises, it never bothered us at all. It never interfered with our stay. The restaurant was absolutely lovely, food was delicious.

I liked location, all the staff we spoke too were really helpful, especially the young man in the restaurant, he helped with what buses we needed to town centre, he served us with food and drink, asked us how we were and asked if there was anything else we needed. Very nice manners. Even though

The hotel is having some renovation work done on the reception area until July but this doesn't really impact on your stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Holiday Inn. The premium room we had on the 4th floor was spacious and clean. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was ample with a good selection. The location of this hotel was brilliant and the car parking is free, we actually left the car there and got the bus into the city centre, it stops right opposite. Would definitely stay again.

The structure needs to be refurbished, as it is a little dated. If you have kids around 12yh, and you take a 4 people room, sofa bed is not comfortable enough.

Big hotel, large and nice bar downstairs with some entertainment and tools for kids. Very good breakfast as well.

Due to the refurbishment some of the public areas were not available.but the smaller designated areas of the reception and restaurant were sufficient and the staff very friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn

Breakfast was brilliant.lovely choice of hot full English buffet food and cereals toast fruit and yoghurt. Our standard double room was spacious with a sofa and large shower. Very reasonable price.
