How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There were a few minor problems but they didn’t effect our stay. The shower pressure was weak but it was enough to clean yourself. The light in the bathroom didn’t work but thankfully we didn’t need to use it. A couple of the plugs needed screwing back into the wall but again, they worked absolutely fine. Our kettle needed replacing as it was full of limescale but we didn’t ask due to the short length of time in the room.
The property was in a very good location, though a little difficult to find at first. Check-in was easy and Holly was wonderfully kind. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a good stay. I particularly liked the desk to get some extra work done and the high quality Wi-Fi. The bed was very comfortable.

Shower is a little dated, but still works perfectly fine.
Probably the best located accommodation in Huddersfield and great value for money. Staff were incredibly friendly and check-in was so easy! Rooms were great size (and cool during the hot weather!) Everything was really clean too! Would definitely be back.

The location is very good, less than a hundred yards and you're in the town centre. Self check in was easy enough - glad I had my glasses with me though! The bed was very comfortable. Does exactly what it says on the tin... Cheap / Cheerful / Budget / Basic - but very good value for money - especially on a Saturday night...

The Huddersfield weather...not sure it would be fair to blame that on the Central Lodge...lol.
Simple self check-in with the super helpful Beth, who was so on the ball she even stopped me parking in an area that could've seen me fined. Great location, close to town centre (1 - 2 minute stroll)but not at all noisy. Will definitely look to stay there again.

The bathrooms need updating with tap mixers as when washing you either burn ir freeze! Also I would prefer black out curtains rather than blinds as the light from outside makes challenging to fall asleep

Very very small room, it had clearly been an office at some point. The double bed was comfortable enough, but pushed up against two walls, so one person had to either climb over the other or get out of the end of the bed.

Only issue we had was the extractor fan in the bathroom was quite noisy when the light was turned on, but it didn’t affect our stay in any way.
The location is fantastic, nicely decorated room with a comfy bed. Beth the owner is super lovely and very accommodating and helpful.

It was like staying on the Marie Celeste as I never saw anyone and everything was done by a disembodied voice. Very disconcerting. I wasn´t even sure if there was anyone else in the building which made the experience quitr eerie.
