How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A bit rough around the edges. Breakfast was a bit cold but it was nice food
Convenient location for commuting into Cardiff for work. Good value for money. Didn’t hear any of the traffic from the main roads

Everything was really good, the only odd thing was no hand towel in the bathroom? Found that a bit strange but could live with it.
Location was good for us, was easy to drive to Llandaff or into Cardiff. Toby carvery and services right next door which was handy. EV charging on site at a better price than the service area. Rooms were clean, comfy and a very good size. Staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Very good value for money.

It’s not very well signposted and took a while to find following the GPS.
Everything was fine and the bed was extremely comfortable but I would have liked an extra pillow.

Didn't like the towels, were very smelly. Didn't smell fresh. And I didn't like the fact that I stay 2 night and I didn't get room service, cleaning, fresh towel, etc

Very tired and worn room. Damages evident. Room hot but with window open quite loud motorway traffic noise. Disappointed the restaurant inside only 3 on food hygiene ( but that is a personal issue for me)

Booking was made specifically for a room with air conditioning, which was promoted on the website, but not available in the room, hence good night sleep not had. Also, black out blind or wider curtains would be beneficial, room faced car park and was lunated though-out the night.
Good location, breakfast was good value and more than adequate.

Booked for one night to go to see a concert in Cardiff, it's a bit outside near the M4 which was great for us as we headed further west into Wales the following day. We drove halfway into town and got a bus the rest of the way. The room was clean, bathroom was pretty big. The bed was comfier than we expected which was a bonus after hours of standing. I think the bar was open 24 hours? When we returned a number of people were enjoying a drink and it was quirt a nice area.

Price was outrageous, but Bruce Springsteen was in town and so it was the same all over Cardiff. A little way out of the city - about 15 minutes by car or taxi with no good public transport options.
A standard Ibis hotel. Everything was done to a good standard. Friendly staff, clean room with good bathroom. Very easy to reach by motorway.

No welfare package left to restock tea/coffee, staff don’t speak very good English, no condiment sauce out at breakfast, menu for restaurant is very much simple deep fried or fast to make food. Nothing of any decent nutritional value in my opinion.
Location, value for money (at certain times!), no frills, large rooms.

The food hygiene certificate was only a 3, not sure why but it didn't fill us with confidence, one of the fire doors closure was poorly adjusted so it banged loudly every time it was used.
the staff were great very helpful and friendly, room was good, clean and tidy with a good shower.
