Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomReception looked quite tatty and unkempt, not like I had expected and staff although ‘perfectly’ ok and helpful I thought they would be way friendlier, engaged and welcoming it certainly could have been significantly improved if they where friendly, vibey, fun staff which I feel is what the brand portrays!! I also hate it when there's no coffee or tea in the room I know they provided it at reception but who wants to trapse down 4 floors in their PJs for a coffee at 7am?!? I also don't want to buy milk, coffee and tea for just one night. Maybe they have an option to take stuff to room if I'd have asked but it wasn't offered.
My studio room was beyond my expectations for sure! So comfy, so practical so enjoyable I just wish I was staying for longer! Location 100% right by station so I got in and out of Liverpool Street in 15 mins. Enjoyed Hackney Church Brewery and other POI Close to Tkmax and m&s food so made stay easy and chilled! They looked after my luggage all day which was amazing!

United KingdomLate checkout hourly £20 charge is excessive. Overground noise could be disturbing, but windows are decent. Would need better A/C control in the room during hot nights.
Early check in was possible when I rang, pleasant staff, clean throughout, great location beside Hackney Central Overground, comfortable bed and bright room.

FinlandRoom was very dusty, there were a lot of dust and trash under the bed. Mattress was pretty worn and uncomfy, pillows were very thin and uncomfy. Mattress, pillow and blanket were stained. There was a mirrow on the door but no light in the roof so the room was very dark. No soundproofing - were able to hear the person in the nex room over having a conversation and fully hear all they said.
Location was great for moving around the city. Great shops and parks within walking distance. Hackney is a great, chill area. Check in was easy and staff were fairly friendly. Room size was good.

DenmarkIt felt more on the hostel side than the hotel. I booked a small room but did not expect it to be THAT small. It was more or less the dimension of a double-sized bed but with a single bed and a small desk next to it. This would ok if you don't plan to spend much time in there, but what was really a problem was the lack of air during the night. There is no window and it gets hard to breathe and very warm quite easily. The ventilation system could be better. The walls are paper-thin and the first person waking up from a nearby room in the same corridor wakes up pretty much everybody, unless you sleep very heavily. You can hear everything from the bathroom, even the water running from the sink, everybody's alarm, and even people moving things in their room. One morning I got stuck outside the room because the key card stopped working. To be fair, they fixed the problem quickly, but it was inconvenient that there was a problem to be fixed in the first place. I was rushing out for a conference and I had to get to another floor without shoes and toiletries with me to get to the reception. The area felt a little sketchy, and I didn't feel very safe going around after dark to grab a bite or just to come back to the hotel. Even if the overground is right next to the hotel, the line is slow to reach any point of interest besides a few connecting stations.
This is the right place to book if you care pretty much only about saving money and you are ok with having the minimum possible comfort for a single room. The bed was comfortable and having the reception open 24h is a big advantage in case a problem arises. The room was clean enough and the common bathroom as well, even if not with great attention to detail. It is placed pretty much on top of Overground stations and very close to the stations to get the train to London Stansted airport, but it is not what you are looking for if you want to get quickly to tourist attractions. The staff was friendly and available in case of problems and questions.

NetherlandsThe room was literally at the train track, so with the window closed it was still quite noisy. But since the temperature in the room was quite hot, even with airco on, you had to choose between noise or fresh air.
Lovely staff, small but clean & well equipped room. Good value for money in this pricey city.

United KingdomOverlooking an Overground Station the room is very noisy, particularly at night when people are walking up to the station. Not wanting to open the window because of the noise it was quite stuffy. The air-conditioning seems to be centrally controlled so it would only stay on for around 30 seconds at a time.
Really good location for my requirements, well connected to TFL, and easy to reach from City Centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms look good and have everything you need. Great selection of TV channels, streaming aps etc.

HungaryThis was my second and also last time staying there. During my first stay I had really good experience with staff, they were helpful and very nice. Unfortunately for the second time they were rude, not helpful and I almost disturbed them all the time (check-in and out..) as they were super busy chit chatting with each other and hanging on their phones.
Location, good choice for a day or two.

AustraliaIt just felt tired. My pillow was paper thin and I had to ask for a second one. Toilet brush was disgusting, it sounds petty but we all have to occasionally use it and seriously they don't cost alot to replace. Look to the details Kip. I had booked a third a third stay but cancelled as there are lots of other choices.
This is the second time I have stayed here when I arrive from overseas. The location to public transport, restaurants other fun areas is excellent. Price point reasonable for London. Room was small with shared bathroom, I never saw anyone else use it, everything was clean and it is what I booked.

United KingdomReception could have been a bit friendlier, but were OK. While I had a double bed, it was just me, but I'm tall, so slept an an angle. Not an issue for me, but would have been for a couple. Trains kept me awake on and off throughout the night, as while I was on the 3rd floor, I was overlooking the station. Windows weren't particularly sound-proofed, so I was woken up a few times.
The room was compact but had everything I needed for a one-night stay. The shower room was good. Aircon was present and worked well enough, although the room was on the warm side at allegedly 18DegC. I went to see The Pogues 40th Anniversary gig for Red Roses for me at the Hackney Empire and then on to the MOTH Club for the aftershow party. One of the best nights of my life, and the hotel was very handy for both venues and the train station.
