Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRooms are a little tired looking. Few stains on the carpet which is a shame as the rooms are very nice. Communal areas are spotless though.
Stayed as we were attending an event at the Motorpoint Arena, easy 10 min walk to the venue and also just 5 mins from the train station. Very friendly staff at check in. Didn’t have any food or drinks as we were there just for the night. Would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomThe thermostat wasn’t working so we reported it on the Friday morning. The morning staff on the desk said that they would have maintenance have a look at it and that just in case they would put a heater in the room. However when we got back around 5pm nothing had been done. Luckily the lovely girl who was on the desk when we arrived was on again when I called down. I was informed that maintenance had gone home, which I understood as it was Good Friday, and arranged for a heater to be brought up. Also it would be helpful if when the email confirmation is sent for it to have the details of where the car park is you recommend and in addition explain the route needed to walk. If we had known it was a good 5min walk without luggage for a person who doesn’t use walking aids, however it took us nearly 10 mins as my colleague had to go back and get our luggage and my wheelchair. (I am currently in the process of getting a blue badge)
The young lady who was on the desk when we arrived was so very lovely and helpful. I am disabled and she offered us a room on the lowest level but as there are lifts we were happy with the great view from the 11th floor. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and tidy.

United StatesThe bathroom was big but the shower was extremely small. The staff was professional but wasn't extra friendly. The room was very cold and raising the temperature made no difference whatsoever. The hot water was burning hot.
The hotel was nice and quiet. Breakfast was fine. The location two blocks from the train station was very convenient. Overall it was a good value for the price paid.

IrelandA lot of the staff were quite young and a little abrupt. I requested an early check in as part of my booking for 12pm. We arrived at 12:30 and our room was still not ready. We were told to wait in the bar until approximately 1:30-2pm, we waited. At 1:45 we asked reception and were informed we would have to wait until 3pm… I am a very patient and understanding person but after an early morning flight I was eager to nap. Eventually we got into our room at 2:15. 3pm is very late for a check-in in my opinion, especially after calling beforehand and requesting an earlier option.
The hotel was nice, relaxing atmosphere, bed were very comfortable. The bar staff were nice and chatty.

United KingdomThe breakfast was quite expensive especially for children who eat very little.
The hotel was only a short walk away from the railway station and town. It was welcoming upon arrival and rooms very comfortable. Chocolate bars given upon arrival that pleased my daughters.
