Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHas lots of fancy items, coffee machine, different specialty teas…but no regular tea. Walls paper thin, you can hear everything. Bathroom was small. It was expensive for what it was IMO.
Felt new and clean, the bed was really comfortable and steps away from the lido.

United KingdomThe heating appeared to have been turned off early evening and by morning we were cold enough to have to contact them about it. We were told it would be looked at and shortly after that the heating came on!
The accommodation had been refurbished to a high standard and was very clean and comfortable.

United KingdomIf I had to be picky , it would be that there was some noise from the street but nothing unbearable.
Perfect location for our trip to the lido ( 15 steps ) and to explore in clifton in the evening. - The rooms are bright, airy and spacious with lovely toiletries.

United KingdomThe room was slightly smaller than expected - The bathroom especially. Our room was on street level which was slightly annoying to have to fully block out the sunlight whilst getting changed etc. and you can hear people come in and out of the front door (staff/guests checking in). But didn't change our experience. Noise from street wasn't as distracting as first expected.
Great to have lido access when it's usually fully booked (with the special addition of the robes and slippers!). Walking across the road to spend the day in the spa was lovely. The bed was so so super comfortable. Staff were absolutely LOVELY and kind, friendly and helpful - thank you for making our stay so lovely.

United KingdomGuests had to pay to use the pool, so I didn't use it. I had a drink in the restaurant, but the food was quite expensive. If you are staying in the rooms at the back of the townhouse you will be overlooking an outside bar that was quite noisy until late in the evening and I would imagine if you are staying in the summer months this would be even louder, I put low music on the TV to drown out the noise.
The townhouse had opened in January and I stayed in room 4, in February, it was lovely and clean, fresh comfy bed and robes, tea and coffee. I was working locally so for me it was perfect. I noticed there was an everyman cinema nearby and Netflix on the TV too.

United KingdomParking was an issue with no prior warning, as all residents permit or you have to move your car around. We used west end car park which was very accessible but an additional £50.
The room was great; very clean and everything we needed (a mirror in the room would be good). The Lido is lovely, and the whole place is in a prime location. The Victoria pub is also a plus.

IndiaThe check in process was tough. The lido was very busy and the staff weren’t familiar with the rooms. Car parking is impossible!! Even after mentioning it on requirements, the max stay is only 4 hours on an adjacent road. We had to pay £27 for one day nearby.
Super beautiful rooms right in the heart of Bristol! It was such a reasonable price for what we had. We spend 2 nights here and were able to use the spa facilities - which were incredible !

United KingdomMy next comments are me being extremely picky, but as its quite new I like to give honest feedback so that things can be made even better. Check in was a little bit unclear, we waited some time for reception to check once and then twice if the room was ready or not. Room was clean, but not quite clean enough, dusty under furniture etc. The decor in the room as in places unpainted, and slightly unfinished or rushed. A door frame in the bathroom was still wood, not painted. Also there is a mirror in the bathroom but not in the main bedroom. Maybe it would be good to add one, in case you need to check your make up before you go out? These are small things and had no impact on our stay or enjoyment and should not I hope put anyone off booking what is a great little hotel with the beautiful lido spa and restaurant next door.
Hotel was great, I would happily recommend.

United KingdomBeautiful Georgian townhouse yards from, and associated with, the lovely hidden gem that is the Clifton Lido. Lovely room, well appointed, very comfortable bed. £15 gets you a swim and a steam. Then there’s an excellent restaurant overlooking the pool, for very nice mezzes and wine while you watch the swimmers. Very friendly staff to boot.

United KingdomParking was a real issue for the duration of our stay and we had to either stay out in the car or keep moving it to comply with parking restrictions. Parking meters everywhere. Very expensive alternative to on street parking was ‘nearby’ This was not clearly flagged up until we were already there. We still ended up with a ticket.
The decor and facilities were great. Very clean and new.
