How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Decor a bit dated. The area is also not very nice, but that is to be expected around an airport. The food in the hotel is mediocre at best.
Very convinient when flying out early from City Airport. Comfortable bed and decent room.

The surroundings is a bit unpleasant, not many shops or bars around, but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and DLR station close, so no problem getting to the centre.
Cosy new hotel, everything clean and comfortable even for 3 nights stay. Tasty full English breakfast. Cool lobby bar with draught beer open till late evening.

Breakfast if not included outrageously expensive at £17.25. Having stayed in central london hotels for two weeks in Mayfair and Bayswater, breakfast was at most 12 when not included. The price per night here is ridiculous from £180 down to what I paid with a 20% booking.com discount which with online discount as well was down to 60 a night with breakfast. Without that kind of discount the hotel is extremely overpriced, in an ugly location convenient only for London City Airport. I spent almost £700 on 6 nights, including a couple of meals, due to the last 3 being at silly cost. Central London, even in Mayfair, would have been much cheaper but I needed to be near the airport. It is well maintained, I felt sympathy for the sane staff having to do everything from clean, service breakfast, man the bar etc. The room G3 bathroom is badly fitted, knees touch the opposite wall when using the loo. Awkward!
Had two different rooms over 6 nights. Excellent comfy beds, spotlessly clean, Christina and her colleagues do a great job. Bathrooms excellent.

The bathroom is more of a wet room, which we weren't really expecting. It was fine for us as we just stayed one night, but I don't think it would have been practical for staying longer. We didn't use the restaurant, as there wasn't really much for non-meat eaters, but it did have lots of good reviews from people that like chicken.
Comfortable and clean room. The big plus for this hotel is the location, as it's walking distance to London City Airport. If we're ever travelling to and from that airport again, we will definitely book this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a big screen in reception/restaurant for guests (news, football etc shown) and what looked like a nice outdoor area (for smokers).

On our original booking form it included breakfast but we were informed on the Sunday morning after paying out £252 for the night plus £30 car park that it wasn't and you screwed us for another £17 EACH for bacon sausage beans and egg! I mean daylight rubbery

A bit of noise from the train station and airport but understandable, the location is why I booked, very convenient.
Staff are friendly and helpful, tasty/affordable restaurant, nice breakfast, clean, great location, felt safe as solo female. Recommend!

The room was very small. There were cobwebs in the corner of the wall also three small spiders crawling around. The bathroom was also very small.
The hotel was within walking distance of London City Airport . The bed was comfortable and clean enough.

The amenities could be better, as the bed was low and I wasn't quite used to it.
Had to book a last-minute hotel because I missed my flight due to train delays, but staff were super helpful and offered me a charging cable that I lost (life-saver)!

The cost of the breakfast was a little high for what we got, I had to have the cooked breakfast to make it worth the money.
The cooked breakfast was delicious, the sausages and bacon cooked to perfection.
