Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Perfect tranquil long weekend away, peaceful and relaxing escape from reality. The cabin was cosy, comfortable, and clean, contained everything we needed. What more do you need other than a little patio with stunning surroundings, a good book, and a couple of duck friends to keep you entertained! We were very reluctant to leave, we will definitely be back!!

Really tranquil setting on the lake. Everything was new and clean there was also a barbecue. Half an hour walk along the canal to Bude. It was very private and would make for an exceptional holiday if the weather was good.

United KingdomI needed a get a way from it all......with a friend ......it was so peaceful that I instantly felt the benefits. We had a very pleasurable experience with the wildlife that surrounds . If I could bottle this and live like this......I would live a very stress free life. The hosts have created a haven with no stress......given very detailed thoughts yet didn't get intrusive. One of my favourite places to stay and recoup.

United KingdomThe only thing is that I think the lighting on site/around the lake could be better at night. I saw there were a couple of floor lights but they weren’t strong. We had torches on our phone so we were okay but I think it can be quite dangerous walking in the dark as you can’t see where the lake is very well (particularly if in one of the further lodges. Maybe reception offer torches, I’m not sure. Overall though it was an excellent experience so would definitely come back, just worth mentioning.
Really lovely lodge. Perfectly clean, so peaceful and tranquil. Very comfy beds, everything you could need. Thanks so much! Would definitely recommend

United KingdomWe spent 3 nights at Lynstone Lakes, staying in the Sandpiper cabin and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The accommodation was immaculately clean and had everything required for our short stay. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings feeding the, 2 cheeky geese, 3 ducks and the countless fish that regularly came to say hi! Lynstone Lakes is also in a great location, with a drive into Bude only taking around 5 minutes or you can walk along the canal into Bude too. It's also only around a 30 minute drive to Tintagel and about an hour to Newquay. We would highly recommend Lynstone Lakes and will definitely look to stay there again in the future.

United KingdomMy partner attempted to fish the lakes but found this difficult due to the weed. However, we were warned of this before our arrival. Shower slightly snug for us both being a bit on the large size.
We can’t say enough good things about our stay! The directions to the property were clear and we arrived easily. There was adequate parking and handy wheelbarrows for taking bags to the property. The map we received before hand with our property name made it easy to find. We had such a beautiful view of the lake and it felt private despite neighbours but the properties are arranged well to avoid being overlooked and are well spaced. The property was very fresh and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed and more. I would recommend this place for a longer stay as it has everything. The bed was very comfortable and it was so peaceful. The outdoor furniture was also very welcoming. There was a bbq and fire pit but we didn’t use them in our October visit.

The Mallard cabin was well kitted out, good standard of equipment and great decore.Lovely comfy bed, great outlook onto the lake.Kept very clean. Peaceful and relaxing .No road noise or noise from other people and all cabins were occupied. No long lists if do's and don't's. Recognising that people will use their common sense. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk left for our use. Which we were very grateful for.

Everything about Lynstone Lakes exceeded expectations. We stayed in Sandpiper and the photos online don't do it justice - absolutely spotless cabin with modern decor (it felt like an apartment, not a cabin, inside) and a beautiful, peaceful setting. We enjoyed sitting on the decking in the evening, not overlooked by anyone, and feeding the ducks/moorhens - each cabin has its own garden fence, table and chairs, firepit and bbq. Good location for visiting Bude/Boscastle/Tintagel. We liked the high (comfy) bed but can see this could be trickier for older couples. Everything had been thought through: wheelbarrows to transport luggage to the cabin, tea/coffee/milk, a good range of utensils, microwave, hairdryer, charcoal and logs all provided. We will be recommending to friends and family - would definitely stay here again!
